during the part where he usually sings "something kind of sad about...etc." he has different lines. very fucking cool. VERY fucking emotional. anyone know what the lyrics actually are for that part?

awesome! thanks a bunch man, lets post whatever we can come up with, and see if we can piece it. some buddies and I cover this song once in a while and I would LOVE to try out these new lyrics.
edit: i'm thinking about running it through a filter with the major pass being the same notes he's hitting. i'll try it out in the next few days if we can't get the lyrics too well. it should make it more clear and I'll post an mp3 of it if possible.

This is from the 12.31.95 show with Primus. It was the debut of Justin and some new material. I have a VHS and cassette tape floating around somewhere. Hadn't heard the demo with Paul, so that was a treat! Thanks Chris!
Edit: Thier first show with Justin was 12.14.95, after Paul's departure. This show was show #4 with the new lineup.

If so, then yes. That's Paul on bass.

i'm not sure which alternate version you guys are talking about, but one version i have heard goes like this:
Something kinda crawling inside
Can not Peel Away from me
Should I try to care or take it down
Held what feeling did to me
Something's shoved deep inside
Here we go, you kneel and I’ll stick it in
I really don't feel a thing at all
G24. I saw "Stinkfist" live, and it sounded different...?
You may have heard different lyrics at a few shows in 1998; this verse is from the Elvis Presley tune "Suspicious Minds." Maynard sings, "Caught in a trap, Can't walk out. Because I need you too much baby. Why can't you see, what you're doing to me? Because you love me too much baby."

the first words i managed to understand were "you kneal and i'll stick it in"
and i watched that video clip like twenty more times to figure out the rest

in one version of stinky, the lyric 'white lines' is quite prevalent. something to the effect of 'white lines.....running through my mind'. or, something like that.
Guys I think that Stinkfist is abouth addiction to drugs.
Try imagine it like a conversation between a "drug" and an addict and then listen the lyrics carefully.

The lyrics are completely unintelligible to me :/ And yep, that is Paul on bass...
Damn, I wish I hadn't been in grade school back in those days. I'd give anything to go back and really see Maynard rocking the fuck out. Love those dance moves :)

That's from the Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five song "White Lines". I noticed Maynard singing that on a Paramount Theater bootleg I have (I'm not sure of the exact date at the moment).
I never took it very seriously though. Probably just Maynard goofing around and being awesome. And yeah, those are the correct lyrics.
I sang it at a lot of shows, actually. He also sang instead of or even next to it, Elvis' "Suspicious Minds", the part of "caught in a trap, I can't walk out, because I love you too much baby".
He usually sang these parts during the breakdown where he usually whispers. Although, towards the end of 2002, he was actually singing white lines at the very end of the song, so as the song was ending, he was still singing. Very cool.

Definitely appreciated, but are you sure about "Held what feeling did to me?" Doesn't really seem to completely fit.
