Oscillating hemispheres
inhaling to circulate the dead space
exhaling to give back to the dragon
I am the slow expansion of a growing negative pressure
intent on harnessing the force
churning up this dust of despair
eroding this film of forgetfulness
I mentally palpate the polarity
above me and behind me
below me and beyond me
sensing my pulsating extremities
as they count the nanoseconds
seeing my dissipating mind
as it travels nanomiles
Hot neurons melt thoughts
into a warm neurotic drizzle
anesthetizing my cognition
and I bathe in the subtle darkness
Indecisive and unsure,
Am I floating up and out
or falling down and through?
It's hard to reach for peaks when you're bracing for the bottoms. . . .
