Remember lyrics like "a jerkoff just like you" and "shit, blood and cum on my hands". If you ask me its a great album - great music, lyrics and vibe.

I started listening about 7 years ago... not that it's relevent. I know the band's music well enough to know this is their worst record by far. It's also obvious to me that they put minimal effort into this album. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. Sorry.

Its cool, man. It definitely has a much different vibe. I dig it for the most part - but I respect your point of view.
Different people are at different places at different times. That plays alot into the music. Hopefully you get to see a tour and at least can enjoy that.
I really dig the record.

Well, thanks for giving me my opinion. I hadn't formed one until just now when I read your post. Whew, and to think I was actually going to LOVE this album. Thank god you saved me from making that mistake. Where would we all be without you to guide us?
You don't like it fine, doesn't mean we're wrong for liking it.

I think people are misinterpreting me...
I like the album... but I like a lot of things. I've already explained my official stance and I'm kinda emotionally drained right now so I don't feel like typing it all out again.

I hear ya bro. I'm going through some rough shit right now as well. This album came at a perfect time...well I should say leaked at a perfect time, I might have snapped before May 2.

You are a stupid dumbass that will rot in hell. I'm ashamed that your favorite Tool song is mine as well. You are a fucktard. We all can have opinions and just because you think it's bad and we think it's great does not mean we are wrong. Go fuck yourself.

Sorry that hit so close to home. Do you really think it's great? Or did you lash out at me because you know I'm right and don't want to admit it?

If you don't like the album you don't need to post here anymore...its that simple.
I don't think anyone here is in any position to make a claim that Tool put minimal effort into this album - Making such a claim is pretentious and unfounded - shame on you.
I am of the camp of believers - those who trust the honesty and integrety of Tool's music. I have heard the leaks, and in my opinion 10,000 Days is fucking fantastic. However I'm not idiotic enough to tell anyone that dislikes the album they're wrong. All I can say is give it some time... or GTFO

People continually misinterpret what I say to make it out like I hate the album. I like the record, but I like a lot of things. And I too have tremendous faith in the honesty and integrity of the band, which Is why I still think there's more coming from the band, soon. All evidence suggests this.

It does. For anyone who already likes it, they'll be happy. Anyone who hasn't made up their mind, maybe it will help to have the physical product in their hands. And for anyone who doesn't like it, well, maybe they'll keep listening and come to enjoy it more.

I don't feel like going back to see who said this but;
I've been listening to Tool since I was 11. I'm 23 now. You've obviously never grown with a band before.
In this case I have, and I can say it's probably their best work yet. If you can't see that then theres nothing anyone here can do or say to make you understand the work. Stop trying to start a flame war. If your going to rag on it, try constructive criticism. Also back up your opinions with some technical details. I'm pretty sure I could provide a horde of technical facts on why its a great peice of work.
Great music does 2 things to me. 1: Puts an evil grin on my face. 2: Gives me goosebumps.
10,000 Days has done both of those things before the first song was half way over.
If you suddenly don't like Tool because of this album. Then we shouldnt see you in the "10,000 Days" Forum anymore. Feel free to troll the other album forums. Cocksmooch.

I've elaborated on this already in previous posts. I just don't wanna keep repeating myself, and I'm not gonna copy/paste.
It's nice that you've "grown with the band" or whatever but that doesn't change the fact that 10,000 days sounds like a joke. It's so... lazy. It's like we get these 5 mind-blowing records, they talk the new one up in interviews like we're gonna get kicked in the teeth, and we get 7 loosly constructed songs that sound like B-sides.
You said "Great music does 2 things to me. 1: Puts an evil grin on my face. 2: Gives me goosebumps. 10,000 Days has done both of those things before the first song was half way over."
That's because you were still listening to Vicarious, which is exactly the kind of sound we have come to expect from this band. I'm talking about the rules, the same elements that have been in play throught the course of the bands career.
Go back, read interviews, listen to the old albums, and tell me where 10,000 days fits in with the progression.
I have not, by any stretch of the imagination, stopped liking Tool. I'm not gonna go on about how the band triggers things in my DNA and all that mushy love crap but let me say this: This band is capable of so much more, so if this record is the real deal and it's all we get after 5 years, know it's a conscious decision to let the fans down. *ducks* It's not arguable, the "tool community" or whatever is so divided right now. I keep saying there's all this controvery for a reason, and the reason is because the people who know the band the best are scratching their heads trying to figure out what happened in the last 5 years.

I agree with this guy, and I'll take it one step further: nothing will convince me that this album is anything but b-sides. If nothing surprising happens on May 2nd then Tool has released an album of old stuff, and tried to pass it off as new. That's really lame. That's as lame as the last DVD stunt.
