Cant find this anywhere else so.....anyone had any luck discovering who does the vocals on this track alongside maynard? While its not impossible that its just maynard....i find it highly highly unlikely.

welll.....with continued analllllyzing..........i really dont think the voice that starts off with the intro is maynard's. And particularly when maynard sings "you believe me dont you..." you can hear the other voice from the intro singing with him. And the "strapped down in my bed..." refrain....that just isnt maynard...and frankly i love the different sounds in this song:) Since we were told there would be no guests...maybe this is another band member providing vocals??? iiinteresting.

Man, Maynard is just using effects and the studio to their fullest. It is 100% him. It all even sounds like him to me, even if it is somewhat distorted.

In one of the previous newsletters before the band even started recording Blair said Maynard was messing around with the vocal effects on Danny's old sampler deely during rehearsals. I'd put money on the vocal effect being from that piece of gear.

As I recall they recorded with two mics: A Soundelux for his normal vocals, and a highly distorted SM57 (whatever the hell those are) for the harsher stuff.
It would seem that recording with these simultaneously, then mixing them together, creates an effect not unlike two people singing.
cheers,
-snd

I believe the pipe-bomb mic was used on this song.
