photography

I have a deviantART account like lots of people probably do.
I have a lot of different things in there. Photography, fractals, poetry.. blah blah. but these two deviations are what I wanted to share. I want to attend a photography college after high school. I don't think I suck, but I could improve. So if anyone is reading this feel free to tell me what's good and not so good about them. thanks...

Re: photography

Looks pretty good to me. Everyone can improve, and you will if you go to college, but you look like you can be off to a good start in photography. You seem to be moving and looking around to find some intersting perspectives and that's always good.

Nice work. I've dabbled in photography, took a couple classes in community college. I'll post some stuff when I get time. I'm transferring as a journalism major so I might get more into it in the next couple years. What kind of equipment do you use?

DA isn't the greatest. I haven't found anything else so far that's much better, but if you have a suggestion please let me know.

My camera is an HP photosmart 435. It works pretty well for the types of things I'm doing right now. Someday I'd like to own a somewhat more professional one, with a tripod and better zoom, but for now I'm satisfied. I'd love to see some of your photography considering you’ve taken courses in college. What college did you go to? I'm going to have to attend community college as well, for now at least. So then, thank you for taking a look at them.

I went to Diablo Valley College in California where I took a couple beginning (black and white film) photography courses, and I'm transferring to Humboldt State University next month. The DVC classes focused more on developing and the technical aspects of photography than on the artistic ones. Most of my stuff is just landscape/still life type stuff, shots of friends, etc. I've been thinking about investing in a good digital camera eventually for the convenience and ease of storage/editing, but money is pretty tight at the moment. I'll upload some pics in the next couple of days.

You have some really nice photos in there. The "THoughts Without Words" one was my favorite... something about the color is very relaxing.

Thoughts Without Words is one of my favorites as well. Thank you for looking at them. It freaked me a out a little when I realized how the photo turned out. The colors are eerie almost.

Re: photography

My grandfather is the best photographer in Canada(Ted Grant), he dropped out of high school, and took no classes on photography. He worked in a warehouse until he was twentysomething, and asked his wife for a camera for his birthday. Real photography skills come from the heart, not some wanker photography college.

Oh yeah? Well my daddy's the best hitman in the world... and he didn't even go to middle school..!!!111hjkf

Er... anyway.
x s|n x, you have a pretty neat gallery. I like the two ink drawings better than your photography, though... they're nice and random.

Photography isn't one of my strong points, but I recently acquired a new camera so...My shoes rock.

Skills are functions, and thus not necessarily constrained by their point of origin.

Re: photography

"Thoughts Without Words"....absolutely beautiful and haunting. I'd love to have that framed in my house somewhere.

But how did you decide upon the title?

It's actually a song by Shadows Fall, so I shouldn't get credit for coming up with it. It does fit though. That song is amazing by the way
