Sure! I am actually with the plebs night one, only night two am I too good for the riff-raff. :)
I have been to the Greek many times. FYI it is up a long hill and there isn't anything around it. Los Feliz (used to live there) is just at the bottom of the hill. Great little area with plenty of bars and good restaurants. The Greek itself also has a pretty nice area to hang outside just at the entrance of the venue (post ticket scan). Thing to remember there is the one stand with decent beers is cash only.

Regarding Mexico: I have no idea what I'm going to do. Initially I was doing that festival, but the Mexico City show seems easier? Either way I've never been to Mexico and it sounds dangerous, but enticing. If at least some of you fuckers join me (and protect my skinny white ass from any beheadings) I will definitely go.
Regarding Maynard's Birthday: I bought 2 VIP tickets for night 1. Depending on if a friend flies with me to Cali or not, I may have the other VIP ticket available for someone on this forum. Regardless, I will definitely be in need of a regular ticket for night 2. If i'm gonna fly that far I may as well go to both shows.
Also, anybody (sonnyboy, embryo, junior, I'm looking at you) and everyone else on this forum: I absolutely would love to meet up prior/post show for beers. But please don't disapoint me with shitty American beers.

Yeah we need to put something together. I'm looking at spots as we speak.
I'm a bit of a beer head and I'd put American (i.e. Californian) craft beers against any in the world. Unless you were speaking of our mass produced crap beers.
I'll take an Anchor Steam over a Molson any day.

I had a local SoCal beer called "1903" while having lunch at The Village Idiot the other day. Very drinkable.

If we want to do a place that's relatively close to the Greek, Little Dom's should do the trick. It's right at the bottom of the hill on Hillhurst. Full bar, decent food etc. It's likely we could walk to the venue from there and be fine. Stacked parking at the Greek is pretty awful anyway.
Edit- Google map

Nice! I'm a non participant in the Over Hopped Wars so that sounds right up my alley.

I'm definitely planning on going to Mexico City. Any experience buying tickets through TM international? I looked into the arena and it's only about 2 miles from the airport. There's also a Hilton at the airport. Much less travel than the Festival.

Hi... first, excuse my bad english.
Second... Im going to tell you a little history about me and TOOL Band.
Im a big Mexican fan since 1998. The first song that I heard, was Stinkfist (Song 1 for the stupid Mtv Censorship) and really, they totally blow my mind. Totally amazing. Since then, I was excepting for some Mexican gig and nothing happen.
Only rumors, and rumors, and more rumors. =(
2002, one of the most strong rumors about Tool in Mexico. The Lateralus tour, complete in My country!!! The media talks about a mini tour with King Crimson and... nothing.
2007-2008, The Worse!!! Really. A f**** nightmare. The newspappers, radio stations, blogs, fan pages, talk about a tour in Monterrey, Guadalajara an Mexico City. Interviews with the band. They have the venue... and nothing. =(
But now is real!!! For the first time EVER, we are going to experience a Tool concert. Im very happy.
We are waiting for you guys, you are welcome and It's going to be a pleasure to see my favorite band with you! =)
I try to share two photos of my Tool collection, but it's imposible.
But If you want to try and find my username on Instagram as Alexneb.

One of my top three favorite Tool shows was in Tijuana back on the Undertow tour.
(yes Tool HAS played Mexico before)
The audience was INSANE that night all 500 of us. :)

Between that and any uncovered feelings for mom, contempt/curiosity for humanity, disillusion over success, self examinations and obscure philosophies, we should have an album soon!
And wine.
Edit- Oh, and Happy Holidays guys!

I remember it was a topic of discussion here when peeps were bugged by the constant "begging" for donations.

anyone think there's a chance for Tool to play other US festivals this summer? Just curious what everyone expects after the announcement of a couple shows.

Personally I reckon it'd be pretty unlikely we'll see a tour other than a few dates around the Mexican show.
I imagine Tool will finally get around to recording following the Mexican dates, but we've been expecting this to happen for so long now who knows what will actually happen....
