here's something i made a while back using a picture I drew and Adobe Photoshop 6.0. it's very sketchy, simple and sloppy, but i loved how it turned out. Basically, the story behind it is a compilation of visions i had while listening to AEnima and The Wall.
Dude, that is amazing.
The lines in the picture make it split in different pictures, almost like it is telling a story the the 'watcher'. I like this very much.
Did you want to make it feel as if it's telling a story or did it never came to your mind?
at first it was meant to be nothing(just something to sketch out in my head) but soon i found potential. In it, there's sort of a story of about how society acts as an influence by shaping and manipulating us. It's meant to show that we need to step away from them and uncover ourselves but the problem of it is is we can't. Not that some haven't, but for those who couldn't discover a way to become more aware because they're afraid of change and what lies ahead. there's a lyric i put in there but you can't see it because of the paint. it's from Pink Floyd 'Nobody Home':
"I've got wild staring eyes
I've got a strong urge to fly
But I've got nowhere to fly to"
That lyric is basically the theme of the whole picture.
Whoa, that fucking fits in perfectly. I personally havent thought about that idea. For me it was more some kind of love/hate tragedy. The story telling us that love and hate is near each other, so you cant have one without the other. Hate is a potential of - love - is a potential of hate. If you see where I'm going.
I love your work dude. Do you have more for,.. me?
Yeah, the piece is a contradiction. it really depends on who's eyes you're looking through to see it since it is art. but to to accept opposing sides to take in something as a whole is a great theme for it.
i might have another some time soon. i just started drawing again in my free time. i had sort of a writers block for a while, but i'm past that.
Something about it reminds me of the times when I would get amazingly stoned and see images in my head... indescribable images. The ones where you can smell the colors and feel the scenery. Replicating that is an amazingly hard feat... good job.
The drawing itself looks like shite to me, but what you've done to it in photoshop seems pretty cool. Reminds me of weathered tiles, or something to that effect.
