Re: Back to print?

It'd be cool if it was, I need the DVD version (I have the VHS set), but at the same time part of Salival's appeal lies in it being such a rare thing for us Tool fans to acquire, so I have mixed feelings about it, if it is in fact even true.

Re: Back to print?

I think the best compromise would be to release it in dumbed down packaging, like a regular jewel case. That way people that bought it originally will still have something special, but newbies will get the content.

Ditto. I have the VHS set also and I bought it for quite small amount of money. I think I paid like $80 for it, which isnt that much if you'd ask me. Original packaging, no scratches, no nothing. Like it's new... and I'm planning on keeping it that way.

I agree that, if this is going to be re-released, it should be done in normal jewel case and not in the collectorsbox like the original ones. That would be so fuck'd up... I hardly doubt it. But yeah... it would be a great oppertunity for people to get an original version of Salival.

Re: Back to print?

Plus I bought mine used so the CD is kinda scratched (and also due to my dad laying it face up on the hard digi-pak case). It'd just be really cool to have one in mint condition (had a dream about that once) lol

Re: Back to print?

I just have a copy that I made that I use when I want to listen to it, cause if I fuck up the original, it's not like it'd be that easy to replace.

This is what I did, and both got stolen about a year or so ago.

Uhh... I hope not. I only missed out because I couldn't afford it at the time. And I only saw it *once* in store.

Re-Release

As you all probably guessed, Salival is still no longer available at all. After purchasing it on HMV.co.uk on monday, I soon found that it was "on special order with suppliers" this basically mean that they didn't have it in stock and probably where never going to have it in stock. Then HMV.co.uk removed Salival from thier database altogether and so...our chances of getting Salival and now basically...FUCKED!

Re: Back to print? (No.)

Jb Hi-fi in Australia did that around the time Lateralus was out as well. They actually advertised it (Salival) in their catalogues, image of the box and all. Of course, none of the stores had it and offered to take a deposit to put it on order- even though it is out of print and you'd think they'd know this.

And this year they did the "shortage of 10k Days CDs, pre-order now!!!" bullshit.

Re: Back to print? (No.)

I've contacted several sources about this re-release, and I have it on good authority that it's due on the 19th of June 2006 (in the UK). I have been given this date by two different sources, one of them being PLAY.COM when I rang them. They told me that the date of release on the website is so because the don't have a definite date, therefore the web page cannot be finalised. So...... I guess we'll just have to see

Hope i've been of some help.

Re: Back to print? (No.)

ok i decided to repost my original post in a different way.

the person's post above mine, is totally full of shit, and this person has no proof. therefore, i say wait until a re-release is announced.
