Limp Bizkit Version?!

I have just had the misfortune of hearing Limp Bizkit doing a live cover of Opiate! I can honestly say I feel rather sick after experiencing that. Has anyone else heard this? Or is this simply nothing new, and been discussed in the past? I am certain that Tool, and Maynard in particular would be pretty upset about the fact that a gimp like Fred Durst has performed Opiate. I'm surprised it didnt have scratching over it. Apologies if I am the last Tool fan around to know about this, just reasonably upset about it.

Fred Durst needs to crucify his ego, and embrace his outer adult.

I don't know if it's the whole thing... I could only stomach the first 30 seconds.

I don't even think Durst can even wrap his head around one line of the song.

Re: Limp Bizkit Version?!

i haven't watched past the first minute of that video. It made me want to fornicate with a cheese grater, and then dip my bloodied shaft into a vat of lemon juice, in order to get my mind off of the pain that had been inflicted on my body after hearing FRED DURST faux-scream-yell-thing "LIKE ME!" yuk

I'm glad People are feeling my pain. It is truly pathetic. Fuck I hate Limp Bizkit. I'm sure there is someone out there who wears a cap sideways that likes it.

I'm in shock! That was horrible. The arrangement was terrible and listening to Fred Durst sing just makes you realise just how great Maynard is. Damn.

This is by far the worst piece of live concert I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Andrew W.K. perform.

Re: Limp Bizkit Version?!

There was a great interview a couple years ago where Maynard delivered probably his greatest quote. Fred Durst has said many times that he thinks Tool is the best band in the world, and Maynard et al have blasted Limp Bizkit in the past. So when the interviewer asked Maynard how he felt about Limp Bizkit being such big Tool fans, he said something along the lines of "It's like finding out the lunchlady has a crush on you. It's sort of flattering, but it's not like you're going to fuck the lunchlady."

Sorry for the paraphrase; I don't remember it verbatim.

No wonder why the guitar player quit. I would quit too if Fred kept on doing shitty impersonations. Well, actually he does in impersontion of a fuckin moron every time he gets on stage. Wait, that might not be an impersonation.

the guitarist was actually good...he was asked in a guitar magazine interview why he wore the mask...he said it's cause he was ashamed of the band he was in.

Me too. Fred needs to be violently murdered and die very, very, slowly and painfully. Can't they like sue or some shit? And how do the dickwads that listen to limp bizkit even start to comprehend the magic of tool.

Re: Limp Bizkit Version?!

I... just clicked the YouTube link, and watched the Opiate cover, and - well, I watched it again.. then once more. I sat still for a moment, and, well I watched it again. Once more I sat, very still, as I watched it, yet again.. Thru the tears that I shed, I forced myself to listen to it, and watch it one more time.
Upon many minutes, of refelction, I found my self, questioning everything there is to know about me, and my life... My sexualaity, my, purpose, my existence, my connection I felt had with Tool.. with the band, with all of you..I watched the video again, this time in disgust.. and realized that.. if this is, the inspiration Tool exudes, could it possibly be that I too.. sound this fucking retarded, this fucking pathetic.. is my vpice that terrible when I sing (or try to) Tool out loud? I truly feel less human, less mortal, less, alive... after watching this.. im so sad.. I really dont know what to do with my life now..
