Yeah I should be at Coachella as well while this happens. What are the odds? I guess Maynard won't be coming out during RATM's set for his part in Know Your Enemy. Ungh.
you think you're pissed -- at least you'll be seeing RATM!
I'm pregnant and due with baby#3 on April 30th, so how the hell can i see a show on April 29th?! I know. My own fault, of course... but as if not going to Coachella was bad enough, now i get this second slap in the face.
BTW I agree with Underalus - Copps is not the greatest venue. Saw them there in 200?3? on the last tour, and it was certainly not the best show I've been to. I was really hoping for the JLC.
Why the fuck arent they goin to ACC instead!! Oh well..I'll definatley still go, the last show in September was awsome.. when do tix go on sale?!
lol.. hamilton is the last date they added..there is still a chance that they add toronto as the next date
yea i hope they add toronto, hamiltons a little out of the way for me and i cant get tool army presales for hamilton. thats not to say im not going :D im hittin up the montreal show too.

Wait - I was thinking of joining the Tool Army, but now I don't know. How does that work? If you're w/i a certain geographic proximity to the venue, you can get presales - but if you're not, then you can't?
Can anyone confirm that?
Of course, I'd like to go. W/regard to the on-sale date, there doesn't seem to be one announced yet, but tix typically go on sale @ TicketBastard around 6wks prior, right? Seems it's usually a Saturday @ 10am EST. That's been my experience for every show I've been to... *shrug*

yea toolarmy sends emails to everyone eligible for the presale according to the proximity to the venue. i think its everyone within an hour of the place.
well........ tool army has failed its members on the last 2 Toronto shows from what I remember. Can anyone confirm if they got presale tix through tool army for the 2002 show in hamilton or the 2001 show in Toronto? Somehow, i dont see it being worth it unless you're in the US.

Yikes, that's some ridiculously unlucky timing. Congrats nonetheless on baby #3!
if you're signing up for toolarmy just to get pre-sales, don't bother. I've been a member since the first day, and I've NEVER gotten pre-sales tix. Meh, they don't owe me anything, so I can't complain.
that being said, i suspect lots of us would agree to pay annually (like they do for NIN 's The Spiral) if it meant getting things like decent pre-sale tix and *gasp* special edition ticket stubs (lame, but i really like what they did on the last NIN tour with those ticket stubs...)
it could be that i am close enough to hamilton to get coveted presale email this time around -- but i'm not holding my breath.
for the pp holding out for Detroit -- take a look at the back end of the 2002 tour. The venues for the last leg of the lateralus tour look a lot like the current schedule. I suspect detroit will be the next date announced.
[edited to add] You Toronto people, though, are definitely out of luck.
I heard from two different people that tool was pissed at the ACC because after their last show there (sep 2001) someone managed to steal an instrument from backstage. Aparently they said they never wanted to play there again. I think there's an interview where they mention this as well. To further back up the story, when I was pissing in the parking lot after the show I saw this really scary drunk guy who was yelling 'i got a tool guitar' and he definitely had an instrument in his hands. I retrospect I should have talked to him but I was too fucked up.
by the way, does anyone know which interview i'm talking about?
I see they are still playing the same old shit, oh well. I'd really love it if they started playing something different... The Grudge or Third-Eye or Flood or Parabol/a or Pushit... anything... hey, a guy can dream. Maybe I'll at least get to hear Swamp Song or Opiate this time.
I am going to this and montreal...thankfully it'sa saturday/sunday....i HOPE they add a few more dates...like TO and London.
Here's to hoping the sets are a bit different for Montreal/Hamilton....if they play Eulogy....well, i'll be happy.
SO excited for this show, checking every day for when tickets go on sale. Hopefully I can get some. It'd be good if the setlist is changed some slightly from Sept. too.

I'm unsure whether I'll be able to make this show cause of exams and what not. I'd definitely try to make out the trip to Hamilton if it was feasible time wise!! I'm crossing my fingers for a Toronto date though. Tool 3 times in one year?!? Oh yes, that would be quite sexy indeed.
Hamilton is fucking far away from our smokey city. BOO. I don't drive and I can complain all I want. BOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Also, I was front row for the last little Toronto shindig, and I thought it was lastluster at best...so. ?. I think I died a little inside.
I'm stoked to rock out in Hamilstone! Tool 3 times in one year? Hells yes! Nice to see all the familiar names again. Are we meeting somewhere before the show for a pint or seven?
Hess Village is a street that's nothing but bars that all have patios. Kind of a giant open-air party during the summer. It also happens to be just about the least sketchy place to drink within walking distance of the venue.

Agreed. Every other place downtown is a hole.
April 29th should be half decent weather by that time.

Unless they get a stand-in drummer (unthinkable!) they won't be playing for a few months at least. That kind of injury can take up to a year to heal properly.
hodge -- bino is right, the sound is what you'd expect for a giant concrete box. and I was at the front, right of the stage. Let's hope the reschedule date moves to a new venue.
CONGRATS to those who are still going to see RATM April 29 weekend!
I think recovery might even be closer to 9 months, especially given the kind of repetitive use DC's arms will be getting when the tour gets going again.
And not that i would wish that type of middle-aged man injury on anyone, but count me in the happy camp, since there was no way i could go on the 29th anyway.

Priorities, Mystictigress. Hold out your hands palms up, good: fucking tool show ticket stub in one... four years of university waking up with headaches and strange-looking men in the other.
Think about it.
