Shapeshifter gets heavy with shock Tool support slot
In an unexpected and surprising coup, New Zealand’s premier live drum n’ bass act will be opening for the Big Day Out headliners Tool when they hit the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Wednesday night. While you wouldn’t expect a dance act like Shapeshifter to be opening for a heavy rock act like Tool, they obviously must have made a good impression on the band: after all, Tool didn’t even have a support act for their Sydney shows.
Surprises or no surprises, Shapeshifter are clearly on the rise at the moment. After a memorable sell out show at the Beck’s Festival Bar in Sydney and a slew of media interest around their Big Day Out tour, Shapeshifter are earning themselves a reputation as one of the best live dance acts doing the rounds at the moment. Going on the positive reports emerging from their recent gigs, it wouldn’t be a surprise even if they won over the hardened heavy rock fans in Melbourne tomorrow night – even if they do play drum n’ bass.

Hopefully we'll also get Right in Two or Rosetta Stoned (or both, better yet). I'd also like to hear The Grudge or The Patient. They don't seem to be playing them, but they kick arse. Any tracks off Ænema would also be good, like H, Pushit, or Jimmy.
Looks like that is about what we can expect based on the other recent shows, Swamp Song and Opiate have been recently played as well.

Interesting about the support act, I hope this doesn't mean they cut the set shorter.

I hope you Aussies get Wings/10K days, it's really an uplifting experience you'll never forget. I was at the Chicago show 9/18/06 and I hope you guys get them too.
