I checked on Ticketmaster to see if they had ticket info for Dallas and Houston, but no word yet... I hope to see some of you guys and girls at the show!
You are correct, Boom. Just saw that the Dallas show is on the Ticketmaster site.
US $28.65 - US $53.65 is what is quoted at Ticketmaster for the SA show. What do y'all think will be the final cost with fees and stuff? @ $70? Concerned cuz I promised my sis i'd get her ticket. :) Early bday gift.
Floor tickets don't sound so good. My buddy's gf called ticketmasters and was informed that there would be assigned seats on the floor. LIKE WIGGLES SHOWS! WIGGLES! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I WANT PIT TICKETS!!!!!!
there is no general admission, everything is seated.
im stuck in section 105. sucking it up....suckin me dry. 70$ for shitty seats....alright...i was like 4th in line, and those shits were gone fast as hell.
no pit? I don't feel let down as much this time =]
I was trying to get floor tix but no dice for me. I keept getting stuck with fucking balcony seats so I bought them. Of course when I did another search afterwards i got sec. 101
No presale, and then seats in the pit... nice work TOOL. Fuck. I was buying tickets for three shows at once. Decided to go to a Ticketmaster location. Was first in line and got a good ticket for the Woodlands, then decided to be nice and let the 3 other people in line behind me get their Woodlands tickets before going back for my Dallas and San Antonio... thinking those shows would have GA pits. Fuck. Maybe if Ticketmaster gave a little more info about tickets BEFORE they went onsale... but NO that would be too convenient and intelligent.
As for you folks who got seats in the 200 level... I would be ROYALLY pissed. You were buying tickets right when they went onsale and I see NO reason why you shouldnt have gotten a closer seat. My brother stayed home to get his tickets online and ran into the same problem. I'm wondering just how many of the tickets weren't even available to the public because they were already reserved for the "ticket brokering" companies.
Something is fucked up here. Trent knows how to treat his fanclub. Presales, early entry into shows, sometimes even a soundcheck and meet-and-greet with fanclub members. I'm pretty disgusted here, honestly. I've been going to TOOL shows for 9 years now. The Dallas show will be my 30th (knock on wood)... but I'm starting to lose faith... TOOL has always put on a great show and I've always been entertained, even when Maynard had to walk off the stage in the middle of a song and drop two more songs from the setlist due to throat problems, but surely something could be done about this ticket situation. Maynard released a statement after the fiasco with the minitour shows, but so far it doesn't really seem like they're coming through.
On top of that, I know that planning a tour must be a complicated and involved process, but do you think, maybe... just maybe... they could announce the full tour before beginning to sell tickets? Huh? Would that be too much to ask? Or are they trying to trick people into driving 500 miles to go to a show for fear that they won't play closer... and then... low and behold... "What's this? Hey they're playing in my backyard. Whaddyaknow?" Fuck.
I personally don't know what tool has to do with any of that.
Really. Presales? They don't have anything to do with fanclub presales? Ok...
Edit: ... or about putting seats on the floor? Yes... I'd say they do have everything to do with it. Of course I'm sure the seats thing is an attempt to calm things down at their shows, which I can understand, but I'm still disappointed with it. The lack of presales is what really gets me. Sure we haven't had to renew our membership fee, but I would gladly have renewed EVERY year since TA started for the opportunity to have presales at the shows this year. I think they need to go get some tips from Trent. (Of course, when Trent came back and released With Teeth, he actually thought that he had faded too far away and people wouldn't care about his music any more. When his album sold well and his shows were selling well, he was actually appreciative of his fans, and he decided to show them how appreciative he was. Maybe that's too much to ask for here.)
That might not be bad, iavio. I saw a SOAD from there and it still was pretty cool from there. Nice part there is that it's easy to get to the concession stand from those seats.
It's possible that more floor tickets may become available in the coming weeks. Sometimes there are tickets held aside for possible promotional or other uses, and those tickets end up not being used in that way, so they then become available to the public. I'd say keep trying periodically, and you might get lucky.
I dunno I think I'm gonna sell these other seats I have in 209 (WTF look at where that's at) and give in to those fucking bitch scalpers, and buy some floor seats...
FUCK
Oh and I've been hearing some wierd shit about Maynard not liking smoking at the shows, is that just cigarettes, or weed too? Because I never got the impression Maynard disliked smoking weed, and I thought he even might do it if not on a regular basis, periodically...

I heard something similar, though I think it was in direct reference to some of those small European shows... Germany in particular. I think that show was extremely smoky and I'm sure he doesn't like that... for obvious reasons concerning his throat and singing voice. I doubt a few smokers would affect things in these large arena shows.
