The one they are on now is a warm up or mini-tour and they will be coming back around for a big badass tour? This is what I've been led to believe, is that true?

Yeah the Philly show of the US mini-tour. It was most likely Maynard at his sickest, he seemed really sick and off this show, much moreso than people at other shows were saying.
Oh well, it was still good, and I'm looking for a more cleaned up and perfected arena tour.
i was at the detroit show and thought it was pretty good. but i do think that the arena tour is going to blow away anything they have done up until now.

well i think everyone did figure that the Europe Tour was not gonna be a carbon copy of the US mini tour but i think we've been proved wrong as they are playing the same 10-11 song setlists and not changing up the songs or anything
Surely the first time would be the worst time anyway.

don't think they will play europe anymore after they've done all the festivals here..which is a damn shame...being a tool fan living anywhere else than the states pretty much means it's as good as impossible to see them perform a headline gig...

Yeah. I'm really wondering if they can top that Lateralus tour. It was the pinnacle of music for me.

and i was in tingles.. you can see them just being overwhelmed too easily..i mean jesus christ..the moments they must have had during that year..i hope it pushes them to try and do something really fucking weird and spectacular

but from what i can see from them as well as photos the stage setup and new video screens are much more intense than the lateralus tour backdrop.

The new video projections totally suck. It looks like they just cued up Windows Media Player visualizer. The Lateralus tour projections kicked soo much ass. Hopefully they'll have all new ones (different from the mini-tour) for the US arena tour.
the lateralus projections actually bored me to tears to the point where i only watched them during songs that had videos released
the 10k days ones just have more vibrant colors and just look more intense

yeah the 10,000 mini tour was pretty cut and dry for me
lateralus was overwhelming and just fucking effortless looking
night after night they overwhelmed a lot people with it..
i dont know if they can top lateralus..but i have faith that they will

Since both bands are touring, and at Roskilde-festival among other places, they are performing the same day, what are the odds that maynard will join deftones for passenger like in 01? Has this happened on the tour yet?

id say its about a 1 an 10000 chance. maynard has come out an played with other bands before.. i just dont think he will now. but then again maybe as a result of this thread he will.

At Download, mid way through the Deftones set which was right before Tool, Chino said something like "I want to introduce you all to a friend of mine", at which point most of the first 50 rows of the crowd shat.
Then he brought out Max from Soulfly for a performance of Headup and pretty much everyone was gutted.

"Fortunately" soulfly dont play roskilde, so the only friend of chino's hopefully maynard.
I could go for Axl Rose joining Bob Dylan at Knocking on heavens door aswell (fat chance), but to see passenger for real would be mindblowing...
Edit: Tool and Deftones played the same day at download? was the concerts far apart? If, indeed he is backstage at the time of the concert he "must" join!?
