It was close to what I was expecting.
Also, at this point I do not have any expectations :(

Well looks like they used the venue I was talking about, marquee theatre (concert venue not movie theatre) But sounds like no kind of performance going to happen, hopefull the suprise for the vip people will be some kind of 'jem'

Yeah I won't be able to make the V.I.P. event because my flight doesn't land in Phoenix until 5:40 pm. Maybe I'll head to the Marquee after I land and just hangout outside the venue in hopes of meeting someone from the band.

This blog and the newsletters provide a pretty good time line of writing the new album. I don't think we are that far away from the release. The live DVD is coming too, unless they changed their minds the last couple of years (definitely possible).

I'm glad I posted it then because I didn't see anyone mention it before on your site, this one , or reddit. I didn't think it was real at first because that doesn't seem like the type of thing allowed by the band, but the pictures and Blair's newsletters at the time make it plausible. I did try different years with no luck. Well, back to waiting.

So how much is a Q & A session with aging rock stars (clinging to relevance) going for these days?
Have we started practicing all the different ways to ask "When will the new album be released?"

Re: General Tool Discussion
So how much is a Q & A session with aging rock stars (clinging to relevance) going for these days?
Have we started practicing all the different ways to ask "When will the new album be released?"

Based on the Adam Jones sessions last time around, probably about $500. I expect to hear lots of complaining by people with no intention to go.

I expect that to be the price as well, which I'm sure everyone (myself included) will think it's pretty steep. Maybe a chance it's a little less due to no ticket or sound check at this one though....I'm interested what the one time only mech stuff is? Last VIP you got first chance at merch with a % off (10 or 20 don't remember), which was nice because we had to leave the venue then come back allowing us to put things away so you're not holding stuff all night long

I dislike predictable movies and TV shows. It gets so effing boring.
I really would love to see Tool switch up the setlist and blow some minds with a unpredictable setlist.

Don't forget opiate and intolerance in recent tours.
And I think you mean the patient, not parabola. Right? Did I miss something?

Well here is 2010, but I feel like they've played a few more times since then, https://youtu.be/wyXpswjHmXg

I guess that they did play parabola too, huh?

I agree, only benefit I would see with 2 stages is that when the bands are alternating stages it would less likely mess up any timing issues in setup in the next stage (since it should be empty with no one performing on it yet) should any of the bands have gone over their timed limits. I see it more important for the next day if anything
They should move everything an hour early and give Tool at least an extra 40mins of play time!! heck doors open 2:30 and music starts at 4:25, then next day doors at 1:00 and music starts 1:30

They would just take a 45 minute intermission (w/ full house lights) in the middle to compensate.
