if you play it in reverse 2x speed, then rythmically switch the channel balance in time with the song lateralus, starting at the right side with disgustipated playing in the background on another stereo, it makes the brown noise. The clue is the right in two Timmmaah! sample.

I think its Maynard doing a promo for SIZZLER. I sped it up 2.3 times normal speed, forward and backwards, I cant make out wtf is going on. To me, it sounds like someone saying SIZZLER.

I've reversed it, sped it up to double, then quadruple speeds, then slowed back down again, and the voice is saying "viginti tres" along with other quieter voices throughout the track. Its frustrating because theres at least 3 different tracks in there being played at different speeds, so you have to go through it a number of times to hear all the little goodies hidden inside

I don't know why, but I hear "a sea snail." Makes me want to go out and find one of the little buggers. Subliminal messaging perhaps? I think TOOL is in with the aquarium people.
Too many frickin conspiracies.
Hah!
edit:
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...0/ai_114819431
A new drug made from sea-snail venom may be even more effective than morphine for treating chronic pain. But until it's available, try taking ibuprofen and glucosamine. A Temple University study found that combo to be more effective than ibuprofen alone
http://www.news-medical.net/?id=4209
The benefits are enormous - this is a natural remedy that will overcome the dependence and other unwanted side effects of opioid drugs
I think this is me joking more than being serious. But I did find out that someday I could be taking snail instead of ibuprofen for my headaches. Thanks crazy "snail" interpretation of viginti tres

I wouldn't put it past the band to have someone say viginiti tres and slow it waaaay down and play it backward though
at first I thought it was "resistance", but it isn't. Too bad though, I thought there was going to be punch and pie :(

I don't think it's "Assist us". Could be "the system". But I distinctly hear only two "s" sounds. To me, at first, it sounded like "A cisco" or something (that could translate in another language but I don't really know). But I definitely hear only two "s" sounds.
And, also, where in the track are the other voices mentioned previously in the thread?

It starts at 3:23, there's what sounds like an intake of breath but it could be another word.

There's another thread floating around which said it sounded like "Caeser" (followed by a sigh) when reversed (at approximately 1:35 I believe). This would make sense, as Caeser is believed to have been stabbed 23 times.

After listening to an album like that what does one fell the urge for?
That's right, the voice clearly says:

I separated the channels to differant files. I played the left channel separate, reversed it, and sped it up to half-speed. It sounded like "Suck". With the interpratation of the album being an extention of Lateralus, "Suck" kind of made me think of the beginning of "Ticks and Leeches". I'm not sure why that's pertainant right now, but it's just a thought.

a freind of mine has this take on this, i am currently following up on it:
Quote:
Alot of thoughts on Viginti Tres - only recognizable words i can catch is "The systemmmmm" If you speed up the track you can catch "The systems down". As dumb as it sounds, played backwards you hear "caesar.." followed by something else I cant make out. Besides that, another interesting note.... if you start Viginti Tres, then start (-) Ions at 23 seconds in(Viginti Tres is 23 in latin), they sync up and its actually pretty interesting. Also, play Viginti Tres, then start Faaip De Oiad at 23 seconds into it. Cant say it was actually planned that way, perhaps just an interesting coincidence

The first thing that I thought when I heard this track was binaural beats. For those of you that don't know what that is....
This is how binaural beating works:
A sound played in the left ear is heard as a single tone.
A sound played in the right ear is also heard as a single tone.
When played together the vibrato perceived is called binaural beating.
The song isn't really long enough to produce noticeable effects of binaural beats like Hemi-sync does..but I do think it has some importance in it.

Have any of you guys looked up lyrics on the internet for this song? Someone's posted this:
Una Infinitas
Abominatio Nascitur Autumno
hic est tuum temptamen quod temptat tua potentia
viginti tres gradus ad summam potestate
The translation from about.com is as follows:
Hello,
First of all I have to point out that this passage looks strange in Latin as it is not a classical quotation, but merely a kind of hodgepodge of strange ideas and grammar mistakes (see ‘tua potentia' which should be in the accusative)like the Prophecies of Nostradamus.
Anyway, here ‘s the literal translation into English:
“One infinity
Abomination (or 'horror') is born (or' begins') in autumn.
Here(or ‘this') is your trial which tests your potential
Twenty three steps to the greatest power”.
Now I dont' know what the hell si going on here, but as far as those words are put together I've only found ONE instance of it and it was from a ARG called black labyrinth. This game has that exact phrase, which the game predates the album. The link to the game is down but a lot of people were discussing it on Abovetopsecret.com, a site for those games.
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread88890/pg1
It's really bugging me, because I really think there is more to this...

Re: What're the lyrics at the end?

It's really bugging me, because I really think there is more to this...

And where exactly in this song did they hear these lyrics? Did they happen to mention anything about tripping on a page of A when they heard this?

Hey, so maybe I'm not the only one who think the voice in the middle sounds like it's saying "Franciscoooooooooo"

Too me it sounds like "Exist Now" when reversed and sped up a little bit.
I definitely hear an "N." Like CAES-n-AR.
Otherwise played normally I agree with "A-ssist Ussssssssss"

Definitely listened to this album the first time on a retreat with my Mom. We were in a dorm with a bunch of people, so I always bring my CD player to block out... snoring. Anyways, I ended up falling asleep around track 9 by accident and then that VOICE woke me up and scared the living shit out of me.
Don't know what it is, don't care- just wish I hadn't almost peed my pants lol

The word spoken is "Francisco" at 3:23. See my separate post on what I did to capture it so you can replicate it and see for yourself.
Peace
