I hope not, there's nothing on Opiate that's worth playing. CERTAINLY not when compared against newer stuff.

I just like the newer stuff a lot better *shrug* Every time I think "hey, maybe I'll try listening to Opiate again, maybe it'll grow on me," I turn out to be wrong :(

I actually refused to listen to Opiate for the longest time because I was afraid I'd hate it for some reason. Then I got around to listening and loved it. I think it's awesome.

Re: Ideal setlist

I'll do my setlist as a combination of songs they would not logically be against playing, and songs I want to hear.

Vicarious
Jambi
Bottom
H.
Schism (extended)
Pushit (regular album version)
Crawl Away
Lateralus

INTERMISSION

Jimmy
D/R/T
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned
Right in Two

About two hours of music.

Re: Ideal setlist

My dream set on the Arena tour:
Viginti Tres as the lights go down. Stage is still black. And as it draws to a close, the familiar "Hey, Hey, Hey" is whispered into the microphone, and Aenima hits me hard like a sudden brick to the back of the head. A very pleasant, welcome, and unexpecting bricking.
1) Aenima
2) The Grudge
3) Jambi
4) Prison Sex
5) Sober
6) Pushit

-- Intermission, to the tune of Mantra
The intermission fades slowly into the next song, as it did on (at least my stop, Memphis, on) the Lateralus tour. Before you realize it's hit you...

7) Wings for Marie, Part 1
8) 10,000 Days (Wings, pt. 2)
9) Lateralis
10) Vicarious
11) Stinkfist
12) Eulogy
13) H
14) Opiate
16) The Pot
15) Third Eye

Comes out to a tad over 2 hours, and that's including Viginti Tres and Mantra, which are simply fillers to let the band relax a bit.

Re: Ideal setlist

HAH! Without limitations, I'd have them play their entire catalogue.

This is really hard... especially with so few songs available (...for post-Lateralus concerts they usually played 13-16 songs). Also, I'm gonna cheat and make D/R/T one song, and Wings/10kDays one song. So sue me. This would definitely be the longest concert they ever played.

I'd have to say... start with Flood. The full version, with the long intro. Just to piss off all the people who came to stir shit up, headbang to metal, and kick people in the face. BAHAHAHA.

1. Flood (full version)
2. The Grudge
3. The Pot
4. Schism
5. Stinkfist (long version)
6. Parabol/a
7. Jambi
8. Wings For Marie/10,000 Days
9. Ticks And Leeches (and although its next to impossible, I'd like to hear it with the real screaming)
10. EBA/The Patient
11. Crawl Away, Bottom, Part of Me, or Undertow (DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE)
12. H.
13. Aenima
14. Vicarious
15. Disposition/Reflection/Triad
16. Lateralus

Encore:
Pushit (Salival version)
No Quarter
Third Eye (either version)

Ok, so my list is terrible indecisive and long... I love Tool, what can I say?

My ultimate 10kdays tour setlist

I couldn't find a more appropriate section to express this thread considering the tour section is by city/date only, but if I had my wish to hand my ultimate setlist to the band for their upcoming full North American tour in the fall, this is what I would want them to play (keeping in mind they can't play a 4 hour show). These are the songs and the exact order that would be perfect for me.

1. Vicarious
2. The Grudge
3. Stinkfist
4. Eulogy
5. Sober
6. Forty-six and 2
7. Third Eye
8. Jambi
9. The Pot
10. (mantra) Schism
11. Lateralus
12. Triad
13. Intension
14. Right in Two
***encore break*** (I know they don't usually do encores, but this is my show!)
15. Wings/10,000 days
16. Aenima

Sounds like the small venue shows are only about 90 minutes, so I hope they extend themselves in the fall. Anyone got a better song order for a show?

Re: 10KD tour ultimate/ideal setlist

The ideal set list for this tour should be
part one- "10 Thousand Days" complete album, intermission,
part two- a 30 minute jam on 3rd Eye or Push It or Aenema or whatever song they decide to jam on that night,
and for encore they should take requests from audience, pull some person out and let them choose.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this set, I didnt get to read through all the posts.

As for the setlist, they can play whatever until the encore/post-imtermission:

Disposition > Reflection > Wings > Days

I've been thinking about it, and I can hear how the end of Reflection can slowly bring out Wings for Marie. When Adam's doing his Reflection ending guitar trail-off a few (dozen, lol) times, you see Danny fiddling with his electronic set-up, and then you hear the "wawmmmm" signaling the start of Wings. Then Adam balances the end of Reflection and his beginning of Wings ever so delicately. Ack, it's getting me unecessarily excited.

Re: 10KD tour ultimate/ideal setlist

i like the current set, but would like some other older songs in stead of AEnima, The Patient and Schism, so something like this:

Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned
Stinkfist
The Pot
46 & 2
Jambi
Sober
Lateralus
Vicarious
Disposition / Reflection / Triad
Third Eye
