Apart from the general aesthetic rearrangements, it's interesting to note the little changes in the lyrics from the Ænima to the Salival versions. Particularly, the line "what is this but my reflection" changed to "what are YOU but my reflection" adds a much more personal tone to the song. I really don't know why, but I feel the Salival version's lyrics digging deeper.
oh i agree it is interesting the way they altered the lyrics, but maynard does that with other songs too in concert, but aside from that... i prefer the salival version hands down other than eulogy it's my favorite song
I disagree with you on that 100% my friend. Do you like paul over justin?
What does Paul and Justin have to do with it other than the fact they played bass for the same band?
When Maynard first wrote the song at the time and produced the demo (which happened to be with Paul), there were much more lyrical changes that were better in my opinion.
Personally, if you'd like to know my opinions on Paul and Justin, Paul is more raw than Justin. Justin is a good bassist imo; I like Paul's style better. Just my opinion.
