I see many posts pertaining to Tool using this video as another "Cash Grab".
Nothing that I have seen of tool (from thier music to thier fucking stickers) has been without critical thought and conception. Nothing they put out is meaningless and soley for money. They released the Parabola/Schism DVDs to help cover the expenses of 10,000 days. Thats the shit! I bought both of them. I want to support real artists at every turn.
I know for a fact that they bust thier fucking balls to entertain us... How the fuck would this make someone a sellout? Lets be reminded that they are still under a Label... and Record Labels don't provide too much money nowadays. I suspect we are going to see a lot more Label-less artists within the next few decades.
Okay, if Vicarious was Tool dancing like NSync and lipsyncing (and it WASN'T a joke)... I might think of them as sellouts. But I think we would sooner see them all baptized by Jesus himself.
