maynard didn't really leave the stage "immediately." i was looking at him while he was stepping down from his "mini stage." while he was stepping down and the crowd was cheering, he was looking at the crowd and pointing at adam, justin, and danny as if he were saying "y'all should applaud to these guys and not me." i thought that was kind of cool.
