It could be said that Tool has a disposition to create negative vibes in songs, but in their albums since Undertow, i believe there are attempts at breaking away from that vibe.
I haven't listened to the Melvins yet, must do that sometime.
Indeed, to end their next (and probably last) album, they should create a song that's grandiose and happy. That'd be an ideal way to end their discography.
