i know that the seven pointed star is used in Thelema, Aleister Crowley's religion. its also on danny's drums if i remember correctly.

its also probably used in several religions across the world, but i cant say for certain which ones.. id recommend reading up on sacred geometry or sacred numbers. maybe get some tarot cards to play with, it helps with visualizing it..

one means unity
two means polarity
three is divinity
four is stability
and it commonly just goes up to ten. anything above ten is just a combination of these numbers

its not only religions that get into this stuff either. Newton was a huge fan of sacred geometry and alchemy.
