Tool carries a sound crew of 6 people, including the 2 engineers.
1 guy is in charge of mixing the sound for the audience (also known as 'Front of House Engineer', or FOH, for short), 1 guy assists him (FOH tech), 2 guys fly (hang) the PA system (speakers), 1 guy mixes the on-stage sound for the band (Monitor Engineer), and 1 guy assists him (Monitor Tech).
The current Monitor Engineer has been mixing for the band since 2007. He's the 7th one since 1996.
The current FOH Engineer has been mixing for the audience since 2001, though he missed a chunk of shows in 2001, 2006, and 2007. Since 1996 there have been 7 people in that position, also.

Most sound guys I've worked with tend to ignore what other people think.
