From the climax of the song, the one we're all so in love with. "Born to bear" just didn't add up for me. But he clearly says it. Then it clicked.

I will posit that "Born to bear..." is wrong. It should be "Borne to bear..."

I noticed on www.dictionary.com that

"Borne" is defined simply as a past participle of "bear"

"Bear" is defined as:

To offer; render: e.g., I will bear witness to the deed.


This seems to fit better than "born to bear" does.
