The Tool Page: Opinion - View Single Post - 2006/09/03 - Oakland, CA

This was my first Tool show and I loved it. I really didn't like the opening band that much. Tool rocked. Maybe because I hadn't looked at any previous setlists, but I enjoyed hearing so much off Aenima. I'm suprised some of you are complaining about the pushing on the floor. It's the "floor" of a "metal" band. Moshing to Tool, meh, can't really see it. But I was expecting to be pushed around. I was too close to the front to be able to get out backwards, so I got crowd surfed to the front to go get water and was suprised that the security told me if I did it again, I'd be booted.

I've been to more than 10 shows at the Oakland Arena and I have never seen such strict security.

Anyways, I'm so glad I saw Tool because I feel like they're a "defining" live act of our time.

P.S. I wouldn't have seen the show from anywhere but the floor.

P.P.S. This show ranked up there with the 15 SOAD shows I've been to.
