My first Tool show for this long-time fan and avid concert-goer. Had a GA Floor ticket but sat in a seat for Tweak Bird and no one bothered me. Tweak Bird didn't impress me much. They struck me as a novelty act mostly, kind of like a noise/Jethro Tull thing going on.

Hit the floor for Tool and stood there for a long time. Was standing dead center about 10 feet in front of the sound board. The last time I looked before they came on it was 9:38.

I knew what the set was going to be but still enjoyed the show very much. I definitely dug the interactive parts of the show and the visuals overall. It looked like a lot of people around me were being hypnotized too because they stopped spazzing out for a few minutes.

During the beginning of Rosetta I thought I caught the phrases "Patrick Swayze" and "I'm feeling lucky." I could be completely wrong on that one though. Maynard shared quite a bit of dialogue with the crowd. some memorable quotes, when referring to the drummer from TB "He's the Make-a-Wish foundation runner up" and "get your shit of my stage" when they finished.

At the end of the show Maynard said "Oh, look at the time. I still have hours of porn surfing to do back in my hotel room. Peace the fuck out."

The sound levels were definitely off and it especially pissed me off during Aenema, because I really thought I was going to have that awesome concert moment, but the vocals were so low it just wouldn't solidify for me.

If Maynard was making fun of the fans during Rosetta I wouldn't be surprised. Most of the people around me were redneck idiots that I'm sure don't actually get the music. Security was hardcore at this one. I saw a couple getting kicked out for taking pictures and some kid getting shit for smoking a cigarette.

Got a poster no problem when I first got inside and bought a t-shirt later on.
