Sorry if this has already been mentioned - there is a post somewhere on this forum which analyzes this song as if it were a Eulogy about Maynard, himself. I thought it was very well written and argued - it convinced me.
I may be in the minority, but I see this as a "Rosetta Stoned type song", in the sense where it isn't entirely serious. This song is Maynard giving a somewhat joking and somewhat sarcastic eulogy of himself, of his own life.
I'll go find that thread now.
