The Gospel of Thomas is a Gnostic scripture. In Gnosis Self Knowledge is the same as Divine Knowledge.

Also Magdalena is Magdalene in French. In Gnosticism Mary Magdalene is revered as a consort to Jesus.

It's not far fetched at all that No Quarter would have the secret message in French. Mer de Noms is French and as can be seen from Danny Carey's site Tool has quite an interest in French, due to its rich occult history.
