Surprised at how many people cannot appreciate this song. And this popular theory that each Tool album is based on a song from the previous albums is bullshit. There is no 'Reflection' esque anything in 10,000 days, no 'Flood' sounding or similar thematic elements in aenema, and honestly all those force-to-fit song theories only started because third eye happens to be a metaphysical close to an album that preceded the most metaphysical tool album, Lateralus. If it weren't for that the theory wouldn't exist.

So no, Intension isn't a precedent of the sounds to come or any of that shit. It's a very experimental yet beautiful song with a responsibility on the album similar to Disposition. It's a nice slow atmospheric piece. Now go eat some acid.
