The Tool Page: Opinion - View Single Post - 2006/09/18 - Chicago, IL

This show seemed a bit short. if I recall correctly it was just under two hours.

The openeing band was ISIS (pronounced eye-sis).

I enjoyed the interesting spins on some of Tool's songs, though I didn't like that in Aenima, maynard repeated "fuck retro-anything, fuck your tatoos, fuck all you junkies and fuck your short memory" three times instead of singing all the other fuck-you's.

The stage was white. mirrors on the floor for ligthing effects.

Fuckups I picked up on:

Justin missed the solo in The Pot completely. I do believe that is a Bass solo, and it never came. Justin was fiddling with his pedals and setup a lot throughout the concert.

Maynard missed a lot of the very opening of The Pot. He joked that his doctor said he shouldn't sing it -- something about his throuat and vagina itching.

Aenima was a great closing song. They try very hard to keep you guessing which song is going to come next. Directly before Aenima, I was sure it was going to be Right in Two.
