My husband, Sean, and I decided to drive from Broome County, NY around 1pm to AC. We were hoping to pick up a couple hotel discount books at a rest stop/ welcoming area. Jesus christ.. the cheapest hotel we could find was $150 for the night and mind you, it was crap! Ha! So we said screw it, let's just get into AC, find out where it is, and go from there. We arrived in AC about 6pm and talk about traffic! Being impatient that Sean is, he decided to turn into whatever casino parking he could find just to get out of the mess of cars. We parked at The Caesar Palace Parking at 6pm, which would eventually cost $20 for the night. I ended up getting dressed/ putting on my makeup in the car while he passed out for a few.

At 8:15pm we walked along the Boardwalk to find everyone and their mother waiting to get it. The lines were wicked LONG. Some awesome security guard told us to follow him and he took us to a super short line. (Had like 5 people) I wore a tight laced corset and the girl who was patting me down asked if I was "carrying knives or guns in it." HA! That made me laugh.

Once we got in, I was amazed at how long the beer lines were! We said screw it and decided to find our seats. The ushers were worthless. They honestly didn't know their asses from their faces, so we found them ourselves. We were in sec 206 and let me tell you, we had a GREAT view!! Seems we missed Melt Banana, but that's cool. I came there for TOOL anyways. Ha!

They definitely played more songs on their 10KD album. I was a little let down that I didn't get a little bit of "Prison Sex" tossed in there, but hey... I wasn't going to bitch. During Lateralus, Danny definitely picked things up when the drummer of Melt Banana went off beat here and there... actually he pretty much drowned him out towards the end. I was loving it. haha! The lasers/ back drop screens/ lights definitely added to the show. My last TOOL concert was in Hawaii, August '06, and the concert hall was too small to get the effect it achieved at Boardwalk Hall. I'll agree with another poster in saying the crowd seemed a bit dead. Hell, I was hyped once I walked through the doors, but hey, to each their own. I'll have to say, the hippy broad dancing around towards the end of the concert near the stairs was interesting.

Downside- traffic, the dumbass couple next to us who decided to start arguing once Jambi started (Thank God they left by (-) ions Interlude), the jackass who kept saying, "I really like your shirt! "Get Waisted?" Wow... you're amazing... Can I have your number?" while poking my shoulder during Stinkfist who I had to eventually tell him to go fuck off, and the horrendous beer lines. All in all, TOOL was amazing. This was Sean's first TOOL concert. The first thing he said to me when the lights came on was, "Phenomenal." That in itself made everything worthwhile and it definitely made my birthday a great one. :)

Oh and after the concert, being that everyone was pretty much stuck in the parking structure for hours, we decided to pass out for a bit in the car. Sean woke up at 3am and there was still a LINE! We eventually woke up at 5am and everyone was gone. We headed to the guard shacks, Sean handed them a 20 and he gave us $15 back! WOOHOOO! Parking returned to its usual $5 a day fee once it cleared of concert goers! See you guys in Albany, NY!
