Yeah I think so - there is a sense of splitting - the word 'mitosis' is sung at the very mid-point (to the second) of Fear Inoculum. When they were touring with the 2-min preview of Descending, it was called Ascending/Descending. And Descending is really the crux track - do we 'rise' and fulfil our potential, or are we going to be swallowed by the waves?

(Spoiler: it's not looking good, the waves are winning...)
