I just wanted to say, the bass from 1:40 - 1:55 is fucking amazing. The bass on this album as a whole, actually, was just mindblowing in my opinion. Paul leaving wasn't a bad thing by any means. I didn't really care for his style save a few songs. Justin is a hardcore badass on bass.

I have to admit, the bass on Hush was particularly "funky" (i'll never say that again) and a few select songs in Undertow had some pretty good bass too, but none of it was NEAR as good or creative as the stuff Justin created.

Flea... the bass player from the Chili Peppers correct?

And yes, the bass in Tool has always seemed like the more centric intrument (in most cases it would be lead guitar) and I love that. Bass > lead electric any day.

Pretty sure Paul wrote the bass for the first three songs on Aenima. So don't get ahead of yourself. Paul's work on undertow is downright scary, literally.
