Mmmm, I think it's widescreen. Not 16:9 but the other one (2.35:1 I think). Got a better-than-youtube-quality one, and it's in that screen ratio.

yeah this is correct.
unfortunatley the DVD hasn't been authored very well, and has not been implemented with a trigger to have the ratio automatically be adjusted by your dvd player, depending what aspect screen you have it set to. either way, you have to manually do it. bit of a cock-up if you ask me.

you can see that the vicarious video is 16x9 by seeing the circle shape of the sun (or eclipse) and obviously the documentary is 4x3.
