Well, I'm expanding my setup to a professional level setup, and I realized I have no synth effects, and am considering buying a synth set.

But they aren't something I know a lot about, so I'm asking.

Are you talking real synths or soft synths? Either way, I'd recommend you get a plain midi controller keyboard, something like this (http://www.midiman.com/products/midiman/oxygen8.php) or this (http://www.midiman.com/products/m-audio/radium49.php). Then you can use both synth modules and soft synths. As for soft synths, there's plenty of freeware VSTi and DXi synths that you can load into any host app, or there's stuff like Absynth (http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?absynth2_us), which is pretty fuckin dope.

Ah...my bad. Have you checked out this (http://www.rlinndesign.com/01products/adren2.html) thing?

Doesn't seem bad, I don't need the amp modeling though, I'm in the process of working for the BassPOD/BassPODxt (I think I'm going to get the xt)

You know of any "pure" synthesizer sets (I don't really care about other effects, I just need the synth)
