Some of you probably read it already, but the top article under 1997 in the Articles Section here with Microsoft Music Central gave me a lot of insight into The Grudge and Lateralus as a whole, it sorta gave me an idea as to where Maynard was going lyrically

Nice interview, I wonder how I missed that before.

Every time I read something like this, I get more and more convinced that Tool and I are on the same wavelength about a lot of issues. They really are "my" band.

Yeah, its pretty cool. That interview really showed Maynard re-evaluating himself. Get older, have kids, learn more...things that most of us have common (not me, i'm still a self-centered teenager), but I think that Lateralus was just a total thought of "What have I been doing, why not celebrate life while I have it?"
