View Full Version : A Very Toolish Interpretation

This is a very silly interpretation that came to my mind when I heard the lyrics: "But I'm still right here". To understand this thread you must first watch this youtube video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=L2Bbsa5IkdQ (12 seconds long). THE VIDEO IS VERY GRAPHIC AND FEATURES A BAD SKATEBOARD BAIL. Now that you have watched the video here is my interpretation.

"But I'm still right here
Giving blood, keeping faith
And I'm still right here."

The young skateboarder who fell is still there because he cannot get up because of his dislocated hip. He is faithful that someone will walk by and rescue him but so far no one has.

"Wait it out,
Gonna wait it out,
Be patient (wait it out)."

He keeps telling himself to be patient because someone HAS to eventually walk by.

"And if there were no rewards to reap,
No loving embrace to see me through
This tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
And I still may."

He knows he would never have gotten in this situation if he would not be rewarded if he had landed the trick.

This is my explanation and to this day that young skater is still there waiting for someone to walk by. I hope this thread amused you and didnt ruin the song for you...

that is so cool
didnt ruin the song at all
in fact it gave me an insight
maybe maynard intends this as a general term if you know what i mean

I guess it isnt soo far-fetched, but I admit this thread is pretty silly...
