WOOOOOOOOO!

This show is on my birthday, and I will be making the 4 1/2 hour drive from Dayton, OH to see the greatest band of all time light it up for the 8th time in my life.

And # 9 is in Cincinnati, less than two weeks later.

I can't wait.

How many does this venue hold? I am from Indianapolis originally and always try to come up for Tool and see my folks at the same time. I don't think I'll be able to make this one, but with the recent setlist additions I am tempted to spend the money and do it anyway.

Well, the show has come and gone. This was my first Tool concert. The opening act was a Japanese bit called Melt Banana. Not bad, not bad...The singer was cute.

I was on the floor, and the moshing was very minimal. During Vicarious one was brewing, but short lived. I, personally, like to pay attention to the band rather than concentrate on keeping vertical on account of a bunch of idiots pushing each other around.

Opened up with Jambi and cleaned up shop with Lateralus, which was fucking incredible! So glad they played 46 & 2 as well. They sounded great. Never before have I seen a band play to perfectly and tight. Everybody was spot...on.

I'm not posting a set list because I don't remember them all, and definitely not in order. Hopefully somebody else can. I would've very much liked to hear Grudge and Aenima, but hey...

...I was one happy guy.

What a great instrumental concert. It's a shame I enjoy vocals too. I wished maynard would have showed up to sing. If he was there, I sure as shit didn't hear him.

I live in Evansville Indiana so I was super excited about seeing Tool for my first time in my own city. We hardly get any worthy music here most is country or older classic rock acts. So this was something completely new for the city. I have about 100 pictures taken on my website. http://www.eightyfiveonline.com/ they are located at the top of the page under Photography. Sorry the first couple are really fuzzy due to the area I was at and couldn't get steady.

I was also disappointed with the vocals but I think the problem was with the sound mix itself. We were on the floor and the instruments definitely dominated the vocals. I was told that the sound quality was better in the seats off of the floor, but learned that too late.

Visually and musically the show was incredible. Aside from some assholes who pushed themselves into the front the crowd was pretty cool. We eventually moved farther back on the floor and the view of the stage was much better. Definitely a show that needs to be seen and heard.

Trying to find a ticket for the Cincy show. I've got to work that day but hopefully can get off in time to make the 2-hour drive and see them again.
