So we know that james is maynards real name and that james=jimmy but does anyone have any clue why he changed from james keenan to maynard james keenan?
Where did he get it from?

I think that he changed it to Maynard James Keenan as a stage name. His full name is James Herbert Keenan. I'm pretty sure he grew up in Ravenna, Ohio

I think that the fact that he changed his name may be a product of spite for the person whom gave him his name. This is a big guess, but from some of his song's it seems he had quite the childhood.
