WOW what a show, my first Tool show ever.
Big business was boring, except for the drummer

Setlist :

A song I don't know, somebody help
Jambi
Stinkfist
The Pot
Forty six & two
Schism (extended)
Flood
Roseta stoned (without Lost key)
Wings for Marie
10 000 days
Lateralus (big business drumer)
Vicarous

More songs than the other show on this tour :) i guess we deserve it for being 6 years without show in Montreal. Maynard never asked for No flash, and nobody throw shit on stage. Maynard with the toilet paper was so funny.

BEST SHOW EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE ! It was my first Tool show and it was unbelievable !! I am so tired this morning because of the travel Quebec-Montreal-Quebec during the same day and maybe also the little bit of mushroom we ate. ;)

We were on the floor and the sight was incredible. The lasers, the videos, absolutely everything was hot.

I hope they will be back soon !

I never saw a show like this, people were in standing ovations the whole time, f*king incredible. The guys deserve it so much, I hope we gave them as much energy as they needed.

I connot think to live a moment as intense as this show again in my life, this is the only sad thing about seeing them!

Simply amazing. The greatest show in my life. I came back home listening Tool's albums. That was 2 intense hours!

Setlist correct

Don't worry they'll be back!

Really awesome show! We were a little bit high in 116 row V and were getting pissed off at guy dancing like crap in the row below that was blocking the view so we changed seat and then it was perfect. Sound was ok, Maynard's voice was low and visuals where incredible. Once in a lifetime experience! I had my Tool Army shirt and saw a couple of other ones aswell, shook a guy's hand that had one too.

For the first song Maynard said: "Here's a little present".

The Lateralus jam with Big Business's drummer was out of this world. It lasted like 10 minutes and it seemed like a master/student jam or something. During the jam Maynard had a wind blower with a toilet paper roll and was shooting at the drums.

Just before Vicarious Maynard said something like ok that's it since he had to get back to some ppv porn he ordered and was missing.

Nothing can compare a Tool show but another Tool show!!

We couldn't hear Maynard... We were crushed against the barrier, right up front... The bass was WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD, and we couldn't hear Maynard AT ALL... I was wondering if any of you heard Maynard better from the back of the venue...

Other than that, it was a regular Tool show... Great performances, amazing visuals and same old shitty setlist.

I was in section 114 mid way up and I thought the sound mix was actually pretty good. The is the sacrifice/risk you make when you get up front, and that is why I like to sit back slightly to get better sound. So, yes I could hear Maynard, especially the second half of the show.

I was probably one of the older persons at the show - early 40's - and made the trip from ottawa. I LOVE going to MTL for concerts - it is no secret that when the Bell Centre is full and the performance is great, it is simply the loudest venue in North America - U2 has confirmed this on their last two tours. I was surprised that the show was not sold out, however. I would have thought that Tool was exactly the sort of band that would do extremely well in MTL. Hamilton sold out in 30 minutes. Strange.

Great show, great band.

Montreal show was awesome. Saw them last summer in Toronto outdoors at the Molson Amplitheater, the mix was all over the place, maybe because it was outdoors. We were in section 124, sound was great. Like the visuals, set list and overall flow of the show much better. The dueling drummers were amazing, Danny Carey is a drumming machine, he answered the question every time, did not miss a beat or should I say an offbeat !! Liked the set some much, seriously thinking about doing the trek to Albany to see it again. Loved that old shit off of Undertow. Thanks Tool for a wicked time!!!

They Came, they Saw, they Conquered.

Random Perceptions,

Tight Security, absolutely no flashes, no cameras or even phone cams were tolerated; if security saw you, they stopped you. The effect? No flashes at all.

The Fucking Champs as warm up music before the show.

There was a weird lamp to the right of the stage behind the bassist, a glowy orange/red light was on top of it... was trying hard to see what it was, but the glow was too strong... a magical lamp maybe?

T00L Played for Us, or We Played for T00L,

I was wishing for Jambi to bring me t00l, or for t00l to bring me Jambi... they came out with a song I'd never heard and I was thankfully confused. Maynard had a uber-fluo Puscifer hoody for the first tune. I believe he took a paper setlist, made an airplane and threw it into the crowd. That was a good sign!

When the extended Stinkfist was over The Pot was in full swing people began passing out and being carried over the barrier at the front, I saw a few people go out that way.

Did lose Maynard's voice a few times during the show, completely washed out in all that bass(front-row issue I guess).

Lost the higher half of my voice by the time Schism was playing because we were all signing along.

Flood was great, I had been waiting to hear Right in Two, "repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to raise and eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time heeere..." but was happy with Flood, it definitely took me back to an older t00l.

There was the occasional swell of violence, but that subsided in the second half of the show(again, everyone being so friggin tired).

Wings and 10k were truly amazing to behold, however they loose their edge when the sound quality is questionable and the lyrics become obscured. (maybe a front row issue?)

The Lateralus drum break was amazing to watch, it made wonder what arrangements are made prior to the show to make it happen. During the drum-off the bassist was playing with one hand and drinking beer with the other one... and that was torture because everyone in the front row was so thirsty. I think he downer 3 beers during that solo..what a pro.

Maynard said "see you soon"... I sure hope that he meant it.

The Funniest thing about the show was that all the stage hands wore Lab coats. It gave the feeling that the band were aliens on display. I liked that idea since the set was in that same vein; really damn weird.

The best part of the whole show were the times when everyone around in the crowd was grooving at the same rhythm and singing together without violence. Breathing, Singing and Moving in unison; it happened a few times, one of them was during Schism (cuz everyone was so friggin tired i guess). I suppose this happens at other concerts, but never is it more pertinent as when it's at a t00l concert.

Cool Visuals or Mind Control,

Maynard was often at the helm of a keyboard-like console. I was wondering if he was controlling the background samples in the music or the lighting, or the screen images or something.

There was One large back screen filling the whole backdrop, 3 or 4 screens in front of it. Two on either side of the stage... same weird t00l visuals. Especially liked the stars and nebula clouds, rain clouds and flowing water.

There were circular light fixtures on the roof of the stage, the middle one had a symbol on it with brilliant colors and stick figure type glyphs around it's edge. The other two on either side were dark and simply had (I guess lights) in their centers. I believe it was during Wings that they started moving around.

Sick light show... the lasers were bouncing off of multiple surfaces and flying around the arena... the effect was magical.

I went to the hamilton show the night before this one and i have to say hamilton took it by just a little bit. not to say that this wasn't an incredible show. both of them blew my mind.flood was amazing, lateralus was just unexplainable. the only real downfall in my eyes was sacrificing lost keys for the pot, never been a huge fan. the crowd was much better for this show than hamilton, less meatheads. there was no flash photography the entire show that seemed to show a lot of respect for the band. montreal is an incredible city, my favorite canadian city (confirmed as of last night).

I was up close with my friends...
during the band sitting on the stage part...when it got quiet we chanted EULOGY, EULOGY. maynard overdramaticall made a thinking face and then wagged his finger.
BUT hopefully subconsciously when making setlists for the next tour he may think HEY, let's add eulogy. (pray)
AWESOME show...went to both hamilton shows and this one and they got better each time. THE POT! and FLOOD! were my highlights. No pushit....but you know, in the future when they never play 3/4 of the 10,000 days material we'll all be lucky to have seen it all live

shine on forever, shine on benevolent sun.great to hear that phase sung live after waiting a year and three months to see them for 10,000days.justin is an underated bassist.dude is stunning live.the pot was killer.i love that song.wings 1&2 were the highlight to me.sat section 114,row bb,seat 7.awesome seats.great view of the whole stage.really hope that if they come back the set list has some real changes to it.great show in all.
security is security.but these bouncer rejects totally suck.busting people for burnin`up is bullshit!you pay $70+ to see a band and they stand around babysitting people.these pricks live to ruin other people`s fun.this is montreal for christsake!i would expect such behavior somewhere like florida or texas.but montreal?whatever.only negative of the evening.

Awesome show...4th time I've seen them and they just keep getting better.

"Flood" and the two drummers on "Lateralus" were highlights for me. Loved the song selection (I was hoping against hope for "H"). The laser show was also pretty cool.

I brought two friends to see TOOL for the first time....they were totally blown away!

BEST SHOW OF MY LIFE!!! We were sitting in section 202, front row... very close to the stage, on Adam's side. These were kick ass seats, and we could see all 4 members really well. The overhead view allowed us to see the images projected on the stage floor, as well as the 6 screens. During Adam's talk box solo, it was as if he was standing in a big burning sun... it was amazing. This was my 3rd time seeing TOOL, and it just keeps getting better. The crowd in front of the stage seemed pretty rough during the heavy parts... and I was glad I wansn't there. And it wasn't the same old shitty setlist... they played that Kids In The Hall cover... and FLOOD!!!!! The sound from my seat was awesome and very loud. I could hear Maynard perfectly throughout the whole show, as well as everybody else. The visuals were out of this world!!! The highlights for me were Flood, 10000 days and Lateralus. I really loved the part where Justin was playing bass with one hand, and drinking beer with the other. Everybody played extremely well. Before 10000 days started (I think), there was a sea of lighters like I've never seen before... it seemed like every 2nd person had a lighter. BTW, my friends and I had a few "Jazz cigarettes" during the show, and never saw a security guard.

AMAZING SHOW!!! Come back soon!!!

Actually, in the lower bowl the security was the tightest I have every seen in any show in any venue anywhere anytime. the isle between 114 and 115 had security with flashlights on a continuous basis. they were on the look for anything lit, including regular smokes. I saw them toss out several well behaved persons for lighting up. So word of caution for future shows. lower bowl is now a no smoke section. Ottawa not nearly as tough. I asked one of the security guards and he indicated that the band puts it in their contract and they have their own health concerns. REmember the good old days when an arena was like a giant smokey bar - those days long gone.

I just cannot stop thinking about the performance of 10,000 days. the continuous cascading clouds, the lights, and the perfect sound. "its time now, my time now" sent shivers down my spine. amazing.

This was me and my friend's first tool show ever. We drove 10 hours from new-brunswick to witness this masterpiece of a show and we were not dissapointed at all. The show was absolutely amazing and I do not regret all the driving to get to Montreal to see this show. Everything was worth it!

We were in section 115 row P and had a great view of the band and everything else. The atmosphere was quite good around us which also made it awesome.

Big Business was not very good but it would've been worse if they didnt have that drummer cause he was very good in my opinion.

The whole show was great, band, the crowd, lighting, sound all top notch from where i was. I was very confused about the first song they played cause i had no clue what it was but I really like it. They finished that song and went right into Jambi which was superb and crowd went nuts. Highlights of the show for me were....the whole thing but Flood was amazing i thought as well as lateralus and jambi. The lazer show for wings and 10k days was fabulous as well. The scene with the guys lighting up the lighters and everyone in the crowd putting their lighters in the air gave me goosebumps. Maynard had fun with the toilet paper and fan while danny and the guy from big business were duking it out in lateralus. It was pretty funny seeing the guys in lab coats handing Justin beer and then seeing him chug em down like it was water.

All in all mindblowing show to say the least, the guys were on. Everyone seemed to have a good time and all I can say is Thank You TOOL! This night was special and will always have a special place in my heart.

Long time fan, first time to a concert. Well worth the very long drive up and the very long drive back. Completely missed Big Business and actually had no idea that they had already played by the time I got to the floor. I wasn't sure if things were running late but then the familiar sounds of Tool came on and I saw the boys walk onto the stage and the place went nuts.

Loved their version of the Brain Candy song. I kinda thought it was coming because I read the Hamilton review earlier that day. I'm not going to comment on all the songs because the were all flawless, intense and energetic. I don't know if anyone else saw a water bottle fly past Adam's head early in Stinkfist, but i'm pretty sure it landed right in front of Maynard's riser. He, at the time, was grabbing his own bottle of water and did not see it hit the stage. What possess someone to throw an object at a band that is here to give you one of your best concert experiences of your life? For shame.

Like I said, this was my first show so I don't have anything to judge the crowd on but they seemed extremely loud and fairly well behaved (didn't see one camera flash go off). Maynard was pretty quiet and maybe thats because he was feeding off the energy of the crowd.

Exceeded my expectations at every level and I can only hope they make at least one more visit to Canada. Oh yeah...got a setlist too. Nice little piece of memorabilia.

Also, i'm very stupid because I didn't bring enough money to the concert to get a shirt. I cannot find one anywhere on the internet for purchase. Does anyone know where I can find a 2007 concert shirt!?

this was my first tool show, and it was the best concert i've been to hands down. i was sitting in section 116 row j and thought the sound was perfect. all the little extensions and segues tool do into their songs is really awesome. the smoke in the venue from the smoke machines and everyone toking up really made the light show even better too, ha ha.

I'm still vibrating from Tuesday night's experience. Yes, seeing Tool live is more an experience than just going to a show. It was my 3rd time, and I was in a trance, dancing like crazy, no drugs involved. My seat was in 114 CC, where the sound and the view were perfect.

Security was way too tight, I bet they had never heard a Tool song before.

I was as happy as 10 000 Tool maniacs can be, I felt the good energy, and despite the amazing visuals, my eyes were closed nearly half of the show.

I'm looking for pictures and videos, does anyone have any links to share?

Wow.. it's been a few days since the show now and I still have flashes in my head. What an experience !!!
My 3rd T00L show and they get better everytime !!
The visuals and the lazers were captivating, its just as if you get hypnotized and brought into another dimension.
From where I was sitting, section 111 row A seat 14 (right next to the stairs, last seat before section 112) the view was incredible so close to the stage, yet not trashed around in the mosh pit.
The ppl around me were very quiet during the songs which I appreciated a great deal. Having the chance to witness a show like this cannot be compromised by potheads and drunkass spilling beer and screaming like animals.
There was so much to see, so much energy all around I think about it it still blows my mind.
Maynard was incredible, very into it and he seemed like he was having a great time. I know in some shows where the crowd act like morons and shit, he stays back and sings with his back to the crowd.
That wasn't the case at all Tuesday at all !
The part with the fan and the toilet paper was pritty funny, altho it didnt end like he wanted to when he instructed the crowd in the moshpit to pass the thing around without breaking the paper ha ha.
Seeing all the lighters go on before Wings was amazing, gave me shivers !
Seeing 12K ppl sharing that moment with the band with their lighters up.. filling the arena with one same energy that was special.
My highlights.. Sitting so close to see the expression on their faces, and FL00D !!! OMG that was overwhelming.. hearing some older stuff from Undertow wow !!!!!!! When Maynard started to sing "Water".... hearing the drum ever so loud.... Justin and his magic fingers on the bass... The crowd going nuts.... NO word can describe !
This show has topped it for me, slightly in front of their Montreal show in 2001 with the contortionists during Parabol/Parabola.

I sure hope they come back !!!

I saw some ppl saying they would have appreciated to hear PushIT, for my part having heard it in 2001 (The Salival version, Totally mindblowing), I was delighted to hear The Pot, which sounds sooooo great live.

Oh and, I lift my hat to Cody(sorry if spelling is wrong) from Big Business !!!
At 1st when they played I wasnt too sure about them as it was my 1st time hearing them but gawd.. can that kid ever hit things !!! OMG
The drum solo during Lateralus was amazing, what a demonstration of imagination, skills and rhythm !!! Absolutely beautiful to watch Thank you for that !! Danny was having a blast from where I was sitting I could see him smiling from ear to ear and nodding to Cody a "well done kid" kinda smile.

Adam is a magician, quiet in his actions yet spectacular.

Awesome to see such talented people being at their best.
Being somehow a part of such an experience is a blessing...

Shine on !!

Setlist correct

Maynard at the end of the show said 'See you soon'...I'm gonna hold him to that!!!

Really awesome show! We had seats in section 102 row k. Sound was great but Maynard's voice was low at times but overall Tool did not dissapoint!!! Visuals where incredible. They performed all my favorites from the new album, Rosetta Stoned, Wings and 10,000 days! Nice mix of the old in there also!

The Lateralus jam with Big Business's drummer was incredible. It lasted like 10 minutes and it gave Justin a chance to down 3 beers during this time...he looked at the label after the first one (lMolson Candaian I think) seemed to nod with fond acceptance and continued.

I hope they will be back soon...I was left wanting more.

It is so unbelievably inspiring to see these four people execute these songs perfectly in such a perfect setting. These guys are amazing at what they do. Its almost as if the whole stage, the lights, the videos, the lazers and the music are all one living organism built to inspire and spark personal evolution and growth.

Me and my friends had a fantastic time, and we are still in awe. I can't wait to see them again.

cheers

Drove from Calgary for my 4th Show.... By far the best. 10 000 days..... well I cried a little. Amazing story, Amazing men. No other band in history comes even close sorry.
