What are the lyrics, really?
Maynard speaks so softly throughout no quarter, what is he saying. I have been listening so every live version I could find to try and figure it out, but to no avail..
Anyone have any thoughts?

these seem pretty accurate:

Lock the door, kill the light.
No one's coming home tonight.
The sun beats down and don't you know?
All our lives are growing cold, oh.
They bring news that must get through.
To build a dream for me and you, oh.

Locked in a place where no one goes.

They ask no quarter
They have no quarter.

Lock the door, kill the light
No one's coming home tonight

It's getting colder (7x)
Locked in a place where no one goes.

Lock the door, kill the light
No one's coming home tonight

They bring news that must get through.
Dying peace in me and you

Locked in a place where no one goes!!

We have no quarter
We have no quarter
We ask no quarter

Yeah, those are the posted 'official' lyrics. But there is about 10-15 lines of alomst inaudible vocals at about 6 or 7 minutes into the song. I have done extraced the audio from .wav files right off the salival cd and used studio headphones to try and decipher, still.. I really cant make it all out.

Here is some.. proof:
Dour, Belguim, 1994, at about 4 minutes into the video:

London, England, 1994, again, about 4 minutes or so in:

West Palm Beach, Florida, 1998 at 5:10:

There are definite alternate, non-listed lyrics. Note, I didnt use shitty you-tube vidros to base my thoughts on, rather good quality bootlegs, I refernce the youtube vidoes only to show what I am talking about..

These (lyrics) are probably added in for the live versions. Thats my best guess.

You would think, but take a listen to the Salival version. There are whispered lines.
April 2001 Newsletter:

Q: Pardon my American bred homophobic French when I say, who really gives a fuck about Maynard's chocolate chip cookies? I want to know his favorite color and no one will tell me! It's frustrating and I'm having trouble sleeping. And what kind of name is Blair? Is that supposed to be some kind of nineties unisex plot to undermine traditional American values. So you are in some way responsible for the delay of Lateralus? That takes the cake goddamnit! I must inform you that due to your selfish lackadaisical attitude I'm calling Tank Abbott and he's going to kick your sex-magick-know-it-all-ass! Now that I've buttered you up... how about that green sauce recipe?

A: Listen very carefully (with headphones) to what is being said under the music to the Tool version of NO QUARTER. These are definitely instructions being given here.
