In my opinion, Ænema's all about change and how we people should learn to adapt to changes.

It is also a critique of the modern society and our way of living(or at least the way of living in L.A.). The song's target is L.A., but I think that the song's message is universal.

Things can't go on the way they are. Something has to change. "The only way to fix it is to flush it all away". Flush away what? The modern urban lifestyle. "Fret for your figure.." etc.

The flood is a biblical reference. God thought that the world was full of evil and sin and she/he/it wanted to wipe out all life off the face of the earth. However, Noah "learned to swim". He adapted to the change, built his ark and survived.

"I can't imagine why you wouldn't welcome any change, my friend."

..or what do you think?
