No clue where to put this: figured since Salival was a live CD, I'd put it here.

I've heard rumors that Tool is going to release a live DVD/bonus CD set. Is this true? Or is it just a rumor?

rumor at this point. There hasn’t been any official announcements by the band but they have been saying this for a while.

Which rumor have you heard, the 2002 rumor or the 2006 rumor? Because neither have come true yet...

I'm pretty sure the rumor of a live DVD has been around about as long as the DVD format.

I think they could put on an amazing DVD performance. What do you guys consider to be a great live DVD that does justice for the band? For instance... Pink Floyd's "Pulse" DVD really did the band justice in my opion. Same with Alice in Chains Unplugged DVD.... What DVDs do you guys think do the bands justice?

^ Alice in Chains was an awesome DVD. ...you know, on Salival, how come tool didn't include a live recording of the performances they did on the CD? That's a little...odd.

On a separate note: what's the deal with the $89 + (on Amazon) for Salival?

And considering p2p (i don't use it) and youtube, the expensive price of Salival should be drastically lower. I found every one of the Salival recordings on youtube (and if you have the software, you can rip it - honestly I didn't, no need to piss off the government - remember your ISP tracks everything you download). If you know where to look, the audio from Salival is also available online (not even p2p...google salival and you'll find it....through a lot of hard searching...I own Salival. Box and all. No need to download it right?)

I've seen older versions of Salival (versions with typos) go for $400 on ebay. That's insane. I love tool, but I'm not paying that much. $400 can go for a healthy pair of tickets at an actual concert.

Both of those are excellent!!!!!!! David Gilmour has a live solo dvd that is just amazing also. It has both Pink Floyd songs and some of his solo music.

Yes, it's odd that they didn't include any live videos on their music video compilation...

The Salival DVD has been overpriced for years. I missed the original limited edition release so when I tried to find it afterwards I got qouted as much as £50 from a few record shops in my area. I refuse to pay that kind of money for a box set that's only got a DVD and a CD in it, even if it is TOOL. I waited around and eventually got it for £15 when it was officially re-released. That was about four years ago, so you might have to splash out the $89 to get it at the moment. It hasn't been re-released since I bought it, as far as I'm aware anyway.

ive heard that too. BUT...it's TOOL and we know how unpredictable they can be. Lets just hope they decide to eventually put one out.
