Hey guys

I'm loving this latest dates announcement.

I'm going to be in NYC for a week in April form the 18th (First time in NY I'm Australian). I'd love to go to this show.

Any opinions on this arena, any other New Yorkers making the trek to Albany?

I'm also assuming tickets will be sold via ticketmaster as the March dates are.

i live 15 minutes from albany, so yep, i'll be there!

the arena is alright, nothing special. the last few shows i've been to there have had seats on the floor, which is a big dissapointment, maybe this one will be GA (but i doubt it).

anyways, i'm sure it'll be worth the drive up here!

Don't go to Albany, its a dump and far from New York. Go to Atlantic City instead.
Its a dump too, but the boardwalk near the casinos can be fun. Lots of bus service from NYC. YOu can also wait to see if they add any shows closer to New York.

Too bad the tour is postponed, but more importantly hope Danny gets better soon. I happen to like this venue every show I have seen there has had really good sound and its big enough to hold a big show but small enough not to feel arena like. Thats just my opinion anyway.

drumdude1387
02-24-2007, 06:51 AM
it is in crowd size prolly wat 14-15,000 and the sound isnt too bad but tool will filter that system out

i hope danny makes a recovery fast..i think that it will be a month or so ahead...fingers crossed

drumdude1387
02-24-2007, 07:23 PM
he gets 3 and half weeks off already cuz of the break but then giv an extra week or two after so then all u do is make the tour go up a week in dates and try to fix that up but still hope that Danny has a fast recovery

Rush on June 30th at SPAC and then Tool on July 14th.

Why doesn't Tool ever play at SPAC?

Also just to put it out there i will b at SPAC on 6/30 to see Rush and wait 2 weeks for Tool its fucken sweet now if tool puts up another NY date r a close NJ date im there

and me as well im one of those guys waiting in front of the screen at 9:00AM myself only if its important but seeing its Tool its more than important its a priority especially to see them in my hometown ?and any news on the pre sale for tickets?

i think seeing them at the times union center would be better than SPAC... after seeing them both in an indoor and outdoor venue on the last tour, i'd have to say the inside show was so much better (for sound, visuals, environment..everything), plus i'd hate to watch them from the lawn.

but i'm with ya about the ticket situation... its driving me crazy not knowing when they're going on sale. i'm so excited they're playing right here in albany tho, can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

my boyfriend's mom is friends with a guy that works for the arena. she was going to see if he could get me reserved tickets that they save for the employees (or something like that, they're not floor, but would be my back up if i got terrible seats)

ANYWAYS, the guy said that... "we can't get those tickets yet because it hasn't been confirmed, they haven't signed the contract" (i hope this just means they're still negotiating prices, regulations and all that fun stuff) .....so i have to wait until it's up on the arena website. if i hear any more news about on sale dates and what not, i'll be sure to share.

yesterday i had my boyfriend's mom get those tickets from her friend that works at the arena. i kept saying that i wanted to wait til saturday and try to get floor seats, but the guy said these seats are better than floor.... i guess their first row of some section thats right level with the stage. it probably is better, considering i'm only 5'3 and if i'm not in the first few rows on the floor i wouldnt be able to see anything.... plus no convience charge : )

Awesome! Maybe I can meet up with you and say hello at the Rush concert. I don't know of any prog music fans around here. A lot of the people around here seem like Q103/103.1 type listeners. I always thought Tool could put on a good show at SPAC, it seems like their type of venue for a summer show, but the Times Union Center will do just as good.

I actually did security for LiveNation at SPAC last year, and I must say people don't know how to act at concerts especially the Phil Lesh and Trey one. Man, I wanted to kill those people by the end of the night, and they didn't like me too much by the end of the night either. I'm just glad I can go to concerts at SPAC from now on and not have to deal with those bozos.

well one of those progs are right here. and as for radio i havent listened much to Q 103 ive been hearing tool on sirius like Jambi and other stuff like that i think i heard Undertow the other day it was pretty sweet. and tool will make that arena work prolly the one of a few bands that can make it do that. and i wish theyd play at SPAC its nice and nothing goes on there, so why cant they have a show. But atleast ill see Rush there. but my plan is to go tomorrow morning and get tickets at the box office that would be the best bet ill prolly b there or ill make others go do it and if im there ill b the guy blasting tool maybe just kidding.

I can't make it up to albany to get them at the box office. Anybody know the deal with the times union website. Seems as though non of their shows work through ticketmaster so I am gonna have to purchase them through their site, which to be honest makes me nervous haha. As much as ticketmaster can suck , I know nothing goes wrong with it. If I miss this show I will be one sad dude. Just checked again, are they available online at all? If not looks like I'm going to Albany

Q103= Hair metal mixed in with some Zeppelin and Rush. I think Rush may be the only prog band that they play.

I haven't listen to the radio frequently since early 2006. But anyways, I'm glad there are some prog fans around here. Rush came out with a new album, but I haven't bought it yet so we'll be hearing some new material from them on 6/30 along with the classics.

Most of the prog bands that I like have never even played in this area before which is kind of depressing. SPAC is like a prog rock venue in my book.

I've listened to "Far Cry" so far and I liked it. Speaking of Mike Portnoy, I heard Dream Theater is working on a new album as well. I'm not sure if it's already out yet or not, but I know they were working on one.

I'm planning on buying the album soon. Wow, so many new albums and concerts this year. It's nuts, but good for music. Oh, and I suggest wearing ear protection for the Rush concert because they're abnormally loud for a live sound. I'm planning on getting baked before it, it will make their visual show much better.

well we weren't really informed well... but the tickets were available on tickets.com, not ticketmaster. i woke up at 10 today and figured i'd try to get tickets (even tho i already have some)... then remembered i bought my rhcp and pearl jam tickets thru tickets.com.

anyways after trying like 10 times, and getting seats in sections all over the lower level, and even floor sections 7 and 1 (at which point i called my boyfriend to see if i could put more tickets on the credit card but he didnt answer so i had to give them up).... i finally got real lucky and got section 2 row N (and he actually answered this time).

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

edit: i keep checking back to see whats available... and almost 2 hours later every time i try there are FLOOR SEATS! ... it seems nobody figured out where to buy the tickets

Wow. This is going to be a great summer. My new job takes me to upstate NY one week a month. When I saw that Tool was playing 2 hours away from work, I had to jump. Especially since the job covers my airfare from CA and the rental car anyways!

For those of you in the area who haven't seen any of their shows this tour, you're in for a treat. I've gone to the first LA show and both San Diego shows. They get better everytime. I hope they play Pushit again. AMAZING.

This is my first time on the floor though!

FLR1 Row R Seat 1

Right on the aisle, probably 10 rows back from Adam! Hell yeah.

Do you know if Rush at SPAC is sold out yet? Because I haven't gotten tickets yet and I'm bound to make a trip up to the box office soon, but I don't want to waste gas if it's already sold out. My stepdad told me the last Rush concert at SPAC got about 17,000 which is decent, but not sold out.

Thanks for the responses. I went up to the box office and got two lawn tickets for me and my girlfriend. By the way, that job must be boring for them when there are no concerts going on because nobody comes to that box office. It's so dead there. But anyways, I looked at the SPAC website and it said lawn tickets were $33, but on my ticket it said $38 so I ended up paying $76 in total. Not that I mind, but I wonder if that means they're getting closer to selling out so they jacked up the price a bit? I don't know, I'm just glad I got both Rush and Tool tickets. This is going to be an awesome next month. I hope to see you there drumdude even though I have no idea what you look like haha. You're in the house for Rush? I'd suggest ear protection for that because they're abnormally loud to begin with. I'm on the lawn for Rush and for Tool I'm in Section 207, Row C, Seats 14 and 15. Yes, Tool should have a show at SPAC. Especially on a night when there's a full moon.

The Orphaned Land has some sick music with Middle Eastern influences to them. The guitar and vocal work on the song "The Storm Still Rages" is amazing.

always lookin for a good writer not many of those. i used to write but had sum ideas but didnt know how to put them down mostly wit me it was music. i mostly find just guitar players with BS lyrics and just wanna do effects and all that and the same beats over and over. it gets boring buut keyboards would b mad sick its a hard find.

I love the effects aspect of the keyboard. Yeah, we definately need to start something soon. It won't be long before I buy my keyboard and start learning how to play.

hey everybody. just want to say that I am so excited. This will be my third show on this tour and I have never seen a show at this venue that hasn't sounded amazing. First indoor tool show which should be a change. Last time in Philly it poured on us lawn folk but it was fine/ aside from the frat boy mosh party, I quickly avoided. Grabbing some delicious food before the show then rockin out and escaping reality for a little while. Enjoy everyone.

Still, this better be worth it.

Anyone who lives in Albany know of a great place to get dinner beforehand? I would think there must be some good places by the capitol.

Cocaine, if you really want to go...why not take the train? Go to Penn then up to Albany.

Oh, drumdude, by the way the Rush show at SPAC was awesome except for the fact that my girlfriend's house got struck by lightning while it was happening so I missed a couple of the songs. Oh well, at least I got to hear "The Main Monkey Business" and "Tom Sawyer."

Is Maynard going to call us insignificant monkeys? He's probably asking himself today where the hell he is. "Albany? Does Albany have any muffins?"

drumdude1387

well albany does have a lot behind it and Maynard should see there is a little bit in albany yet he could call us insignificsnt monkeys. and as for that Rush show i knew it was ossum i thought it topped R30 and Vapor Trails and a few tours before it but as for tonight frikin psyched. TOOL BABY, TOOL!!!!
