Yep, saw that. Can't wait, going to Greenville too. As far as Richmond being electric, you know how it goes. Not a peep from anyone, but the coliseum will be packed come 6/7/07.

Can't frigging wait! I had to sell my DC Tickets and it sounds like I really missed out. Now my wife (who isn't even a fan of this type of music) said she'll come along. She'll be a fan on 6/7, I'm sure of it.

Ordered 2 tickets from the TA presale. Hopefully it's worth the gamble. I wish they would let me know if I'm really getting them, so I can at least hunt TM for decent tickets before all that's left is the fucking 400's like I got stuck in the last two arena shows.

I'm in, like, 21U or something; I don't remember exactly because I looked for tickets seconds after they went on sale and still got stuck in the back of the damn arena and was too pissed off to care exactly what section/seat I got screwed with.

At least it wasn't as bad as paying $70 to see Metallica from the absolute very back of the arena (we were literally leaning against the back wall).

i got floor tickets 3x and passed them up, got 17L which is exactly what i wanted. doesnt matter where ya sit here, you can see things pretty well. sound isnt terrible either. if your in the top top, its really not as bad as most other venues. also, the floor is chairless for you that like to disturb others.

Been to the Coliseum for a bunch of shows, including the stop on the Lateralus tour. Tool is the ONLY band, I repeat ONLY band, that can overcome the unbelievably shitty acoustics in that place. Everything usually sounds like it is coming out of a tin can. Tool made it sound like at least it was coming out of a plastic bottle. Regardless, it is a fairly small venue with pretty good views from anywhere. The last time they were in Richmond was an amazing show (Sober opener)!! I'm down a little lower this time - I can't wait.

Penny Lane is a bit of a hike, but there really is nothing around the coliseum that I recall. Penny Lane is a nice pub, especially if you like European soccer, they always have a game on.

If anyone was curious, the concert will be over by 11:

The venue operates in accordance to the City's curfew which is 11pm. To go longer the artist has to get special permission.

---

I'm pretty sure this 11 PM curfew for concerts is in all cities. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. TOOL knows this going into a show, so if they cut out Vicarious / Aenema / or any other song, it has already been planned out beforehand. It looks like for this tour, TOOL has decided to "jam" a bit more on stage, even if it means cutting out a song or two.

Sounds perfect. An extended version of Lateralus is something that, after this tour, they may never play again. Something worth remembering and being able to say "Yeah, they played this special version of Lateralus at the show I went to, good stuff." Certainly worth losing a couple of overplayed singles (great songs, of course, but still a little played out).

edit: Looks like Corpus Christi got Trey and Pat as well, maybe they'll stick around until the 7th =D

One more week people!!! Im taking two fisrt timers. And this will be my brother and myselfs 6 show. I have to say the last time I saw Tool in richmond it wasnt my favorite. But thats not saying much, cause there all so friggin epic.

Anyway all Tool shows are good, the crowd and venue and seats are what can take away from the experience.

facelessDrone
06-04-2007, 06:34 AM
Man, I hope the crowd is better than the last couple shows they played. Stupid screaming drunken assholes throwing stuff at the stage and shining lasers in Maynard's face kinda kills the mood a little.

Looks like my presale tickets are good to go! Nice. Can't wait for this show.. the first time I saw Tool was at this place (August of 2002)...hell, I was barely into the band when I saw them the first time. And I had shit seats up in the fucking rafters..this time I'll likely be somewhere on the floor, and really close. It'll be my 5th show..then I've got my sixth show the next night in Baltimore. Woo!

Also, I swear, I've found it hard to go to a show and have all the stars aligned for a near perfect experience..it's always been something for me. Shitty seats, annoying crowd surrounding me..parking issues , eh enough of that negativity. I'm ready for some TOOL.

I hope they play PUSHIT and Right in Two for these shows, so I get both.:D They have been playing Pushit quite a bit more..

Dunno if I qualify as a "true" Richmonder...I ain't from around here. But I have lived here a couple years. Taking my 13-year-old daughter tonight to her first Tool concert! Got great seats (or so I'm told) right next to the stage, 3L. I refused to give TicketBastard money after the icky seats I got for D.C. last fall, so I camped out the Saturday they went on sale.

I'll peek back here before I leave work tonight, see if anyone's put up a good idea for getting together beforehand. Capital Ale House (http://www.capitalalehouse.com/) might be good....

Just got back from G-Ville, very well behaved crowd. I hope we behave, but I am a little wary of the combination of Richmonders, beer and an open floor. From my experience, Maynard is a lot more receptive when the crowd minds its manners.
