Pray like a [martyr / father] dusk to dawn
Beg like a hooker all night long
Shout to the devil with my song
And got what I wanted all along

Should be:

Played like a sartyr dusk 'till dawn
Made like a hooker all night long
Tempted the devil with my song
And got what I wanted all along

Thanks, but it's "martyr."

ditto... there's no such word as "SARTYR"... the "woodland creature depcited as having ears, legs, and horns of a goat" is spelled SATYR and is pronounced say-ter, so that extra R in your pronunciation and spelling is erroneous.

Though I guess it could be "played like a SARTRE" all night long... you know... because Jean-Paul Sartre was a playwright. :)

And it is "Beg like a hooker"

"Made like a hooker" doesn't make any sense...

I wondered if that was what happened, too. Though that might be the real deal; I read somewhere that Sartre made like a hooker all the time.
