tool is all about thinking for yourself and not letting others make decisions for you. so maybe when maynard sits down to write a song he purposely writes things that could be taken as different things so that all people will form their own opinion on what a particular song is about. i think its possible that sometimes the song has no specific meaning, the meaning is simply what you make of it.

i totally agree with you HogDodger, In an interview with adam(which you can find here on toolband) he talks about whatever someone thinks the song is about, as long as its positive, is correct. All this reading into the lyrics makes you forget about the picture as a whole.
