im not sure if anyone still checks this part of the forum BUT: here is what i think, and i really do think its very blatant just by reading the lyrics.

A groan of tedium escapes me,
Startling the fearful.
Is this a test? It has to be,
Otherwise I can't go on.

a man or woman, sitting beside a loved one who is in a coma or something in a hospital, wishing to see proof of life once again in "the patient"

Draining patience, drain vitality.
This paranoid, paralyzed vampire act's a little old.

a clever double use of words, patience, patients you know what up. the person is so tired of coming back to see the patient and still not improved, vampire refers to the patient reciveing blood from his or her visitor. the visitor is so sick of this constant "act" wants to see the patient get better

But I'm still right here
Giving blood, keeping faith
And I'm still right here.

even though visitor is sick to death of this morbit sight, he/she keeps giving blood and believes things will turn for the best.

Wait it out,
Gonna wait it out,
Be patient (wait it out).

just gotta wait it out. word?

If there were no rewards to reap,
No loving embrace to see me through
This tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
Gonna wait it out.

self explanitory, more waiting because the visitor believes the patient will turn out ok.

If there were no desire to heal
The damaged and broken met along
This tedious path I've chosen here
I certainly would've walked away by now.

same.

And I still may ... (sigh) ... I still may.

and he or she still may walk away...

Be patient.
I must keep reminding myself of this.

read between the lines

And if there were no rewards to reap,
No loving embrace to see me through
This tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
And I still may.

Gonna wait it out.

aiit. thats what i rekkon, fairly obvious, the only reason i wrote this is because i hadnt read any interpretation of the patient like this one so i thought maybe it hadnt been brought up here.
