this is the closest to D/FW so far, so i think i'll be there... i think... i suppose it all depends on my financial situation...

i wonder if there will be a D/FW show announced in the near future...

guess i'll just have to be patient...

What's this venue like? I've never been to it, and it looks like this will be the last time i get to see Tool before I leave the country. So I'm going to this one if I can, but I don't know much about the venue. Any info would be appreciated. I've visited the site, but i'm curious about the quality of sound and visuals.

I doubt there will be a DFW show...remember, this a "secondary markets" tour, and plus they've been to Dallas twice in the last 9 months already.

Unless they add more California dates at the start of this tour, I will be at the OKC show. I've never been to the Ford Center, but I do know that the sound quality at Cox, which is right next door, is really good.

I have been to Green Day at the Ford Center and i thought the sound was awesome, the ford center is a nice venue the concert will be awesome. Tool on my fucking birthday also it does not get much better than that. Can not wait for the show I had to drive to AMerican Airlines in September to watch them but now they are right in my backyard cant fucking wait

I saw Nine Inch Nails at the Ford Center last year. It was unbelievable. Very nice venue. Great sound. In fact I think some of the new NiN DVD coming out Feb 28th has some OKC footage. (I remember them telling us to look at the HD cameras!)

So does anyone know if there will be a pre sale like Vegas got? PLEASE :) at ToolArmy?

Seeing as the tickets go on sale 10:00AM THIS SATURDAY at Ticketfucker. Also, I'm afraid if I get pit tickets it will ruin the experience. Who knows

Where are the best seats located in the Ford Center?

The only Tool concert i've seen (which melted my face it was so good) was in Dallas in SEATS. If i can grab section 2 PIT tickets, do you think that would be a good idea? Or are seats preferred?

I think you should get FOUR tickets via the presale (2 in the pit and 2 in seats), and sell two to me because I don't have access to TA.

The Ford Center is a great venue. It's a pretty big place, and the acoustics aren't bad at all. It's only like 5 years old too, so it's fairly modern. I would recommend getting floor seats if you can. I saw Incubus there a few years back and we had floor seats and we had a great view the whole time. I can't wait for this show!

i'm pretty sure that it is only 6 tickets, not for sure though. does anyone know whether or not the floor seats are going to be GA, or assigned seats? By the looks of it they probably will have seats on the floor. http://www.okfordcenter.com/events/TOOL.html, but i'm not positive.

I really rather have lower level seats than floor seats, i heard some people couldnt even see the show. But my question is im buying 3 tickets do u think i should go for best available or take the time to hit lower level seats? ill be driving from dallas and staying in a hotel for the night, glad to hear the venue is nice. man i hope i get some tickets....

tabula.rassa

it will definately be a seated floor. make no mistake...

...we should expect that TooL will do this for the rest of their career.

once you actually experience it, you'll know why. it makes things sooooo much better.

when everyone can just watch, listen, and absorb the entire experience as it's intended, (instead of having to worry about which meathead dick mite accidentally knock you to the floor causing you to be trampled to death...) you can connect on an entirely different level...

i don't think i'll be able to make it to this one. my amazing wife is pregnant, and we need every last cent saved for the future of my darling daughter...
i have no regrets tho...
just one request...

please... someone... anyone... try to get a good recording of the show...

i would be eternally grateful.

who knows tho. maybe i'll be there after all...

103 is actually a bit closer to the stage than 119. That's a pretty good section. You are on the left side of the stage, and I'm on the right just a bit. Either way, we will both be able to see everything fine.

I decided to attempt the presales, but also had my buddy do ticketmaster because I was unsure of the whole "location" restriction. Ticketmaster gave us section 104 Row L. As far as the presales go....I didn't think I get them, but Tool made a transaction with my bank this morning for 108 dollars. I have a strange feeling they will be floor seats, i dunno why.

I usually have pretty good luck with getting tickets, and did all right this time. However, I've never seen a show sell this fast. I made away with three pairs; two in 102 Row E, 117 Row H, and 118 Row H. When I initally tried to get six tickets I got 200-level seats returned and then tried to reserve seperate pairs. My friends and I will have to sit apart, but I don't mind. Next time I may even just buy individual tickets, as I was pulling up 117 Row B individual tickets at about 10:20 AM. I know several people who bought tickets at exactly 10:00 AM and ended up with 300-level seats.

I got 6 tickets in 203 and 2 tickets in 207. I was on t-1 connection firng at 10am straight up and made the same mistake NATALIE PORTMAN did. I searched for lower level hoping for 114-115 or 106 or 107. Obviously it didnt happen. Im fed up with ticketmaster as well, but what can you do???

Whats the deal with the toolarmy presales? You have to live within 100 miles of the venue? If so that freakin SUCKS! I considered buying the membership after all these years, but didnt know if I would get registered in time for the OKC presales. Its a good thing I didnt since I live just east of Tulsa.

Another thing that angered me was I got charged an $11 building/facility charge per ticket for being on "club level." I payed $76.54 a ticket for 8 tickets. If it wasnt Tool Id be even more pissed. Like someone else said though I will have seen them 3 times in 10 months after this show.

I was suprised to see Oklahoma tickets selling so fast. I know why...we have mass people coming from Dallas & KC worried they arent going to get their own dates. Im sure they will hit big D & KC in the next month or 2. I will have to go to at least one of those too.

NATALIE PORTMAN, how are my seats in 203 (5th row)? Im not thrilled about them, but thats what I get for wanting to sit with 5 friends...I shouldnt complain about my 8th tool show, I guess. See everyone there!

I received no email, nor do I live within one hour. I live about 2.5 hours from OKC and still managed to buy presale tickets. I think they were a little bit more relaxed with this one. I live about 10 miles from the Oklahoma border, so they probably allowed it.

I dunno, but I was charged for them, so I'm assuming its all good. either way, I have a backup - Section 104.

Does anyone think that perhaps the stage will be moved up to around the 105/116 area? I say this because a) I have not seen a single listing for sections 113-115/106-108, and b) I have not seen any listing for GA seats in section 4-6 of the floor. Plus it's Oklahoma, and even though I'm sure there are plenty of fans in the area, I have a hard time believing they would use the entire floor as they did in larger cities like Dallas.

I am beginning to wonder the same...Does anyone know the answer to this for sure? I will be calling the Ford Center tomorrow and asking. If you went to the Ford Center site a few days before the tickets went on sale they showed a "half house" seating chart. The day before they went on sale it changed there and on ticketmaster as well.

Like you say though I havent seen anyone post that they are sitting in sections further right than 116 & 105. IF this is true, IM FEELING A WHOLE LOT BETTER. I dont understand why they would do a half house concert...throwing away too much money. There is a guy on ebay selling his tickets that says he was told it was a "half house" when he got his tickets AT the Ford Center. SOMEONE please confirm?

02-11-2007, 09:01 PM
I will be fucking pissed if they have the "half house" setup...I passed up a few decent seats in 116 and 117 because I thought I could do better, and now I don't have any tickets.

On that note, anyone have any spare tickets in 117, 118, 105, or 106? I'll pay a little more than face value.

MelbaToast454-1
02-11-2007, 09:22 PM
i bet it is half. i was wondering why the Ford website had a half setup. (as opposed to the ticketbastard seat chart). if you all look on the ticketmaseer Auction for this concert, it lists for floor section 2, 3 then goes straight to 116 and the adjacent section from it.

If you go to ticket broker websites Sec. 104 & 117 are the highest priced lower level tickets. You wont find any being sold in 106, 107, 115, 114. I think it is half-housed.

All right, so I just called the Ford Center to ask if the show will be "half house" and if not then why the absence of sections 115, 114, 106 and 107. The woman I spoke to had a hard time understanding the question I was asking, and kept asking if I wanted to purchase tickets. She claimed that sections 114, 115, 106, 107 and Floors 4 to 9 went on sale at the normal on-sale time of 10:00 AM 2/10/07. I've seen none of these tickets on stubub, toptickets, ebay or ticketmaster's auction and pointed this out to her, but did not recieve any kind of clear answer. I would say this is not a definite confirmation but she did say that it wouldn't be "half-house." Does anyone know if 114, 115, 106 and 107 or Floors 4 to 9 were part of the ToolArmy pre-sale?

Me and several friends were all mashing refresh the second that tickets went on sale, and all of us got "SOLD OUT" for floor. Instead lets talk about how AWESOME this concert is going to be!!! Last time they played OKC they played Third Eye. Fat chance of that again but who knows.

02-15-2007, 11:28 AM
I didn't go to it in OKC, unfortunately, i wish i would have. I hope that they play some more Lateralus songs on this tour, maybe disposition, reflection and triad? Do you think they'll change up the setlist quite a bit or keep it similar to the 1st leg tour?

Justin already said they're keeping the setlist almost the same. If I end up going, all I ask for is Right in Two.

MelbaToast454-1

Right In Two would be nice. As much as I LOVED Wings For Marie, too many assholes didn't "get it" and were cheering rude things while it was being played.

Its such a personal song. Well I suck for not knowing who Tool was when they did the Lateralus tour. Thats my fault. Im just happy that I get another chance to see my favorite band up close, even if they play the same setlist.

Justin or was it Adam? Did say that it would pretty much be the same setlist cause they are hitting cities they missed in 2006 BUT he did say it would be more" evolved" whatever that means....

I bet some of those people that answer the phone at the venue are pretty much clueless. That seating chart looks legit to me - not only have we not seen ANYONE with tickets in section 114, 113, etc., that map makes it look like only half of 106 and 115 have available seats. In other words, they took the time to check exactly what parts of the section will be available.

Im tellin ya...something has been screwy with this OKC show...you would think its the first concert the ford center or ticketmaster has done...Yesterday, all of a sudden there were tickets released on the floor, sec. 105,106,208,116, 115, & 223.

I called ticketmaster and bitched at three different people because suddenly there were better tickets than I got the second they went on sale. I got them to tell me they would exchange if my tickets had not shipped yet. According to them my tickets shipped yesterday so they couldnt exchange...I had to buy more on ANOTHER credit card and I got front row sec. 223 now...

The ford center website showed a half house floor plan until the night before they went on sale, then both ticketmaster & ford center showed full house seating. NOW, as of 2/17, ticketmaster is still showing full house and the ford center www.okfordcenter.com is suddenly showing a half house again...I called them and couldnt get a clear answer...they didnt know what I meant by "half house"

they wait and release tickets at the last minute, they reserve all the close floor tickets for radio stations, contests, brokers, ticketmaster auctions etc,and the ones that dont sell get released at the last minute to the General public at face value, meanwhile ticketmaster is taking advantage of us TRUE TOOL fans on their auctions by paying 400-650 a pair for floor tickets................

I suggest calling Ticketmaster to see if your tickets have shipped yet, assuming that you aren't going wtih will-call or printed your tickets off, then proceed to bitch them directly for several minutes. You should then proceed to ask for your rep's supervisor and do the same, if that person is unwilling to exchange your tickets request to speak with their on-duty operation's manager. They'll tell you that this person is unavailable, but they're lying. Just keep asking. They do have the power to modify your order as long your tickets are still within their "possession." It is true that the TM reps aren't personally responsible for what has happened, but the company they work for is and these are the kind of things that customer service departments exist for. I am satisfied with my tickets, but disgusted at what has happened to many others so I encourage those who feel they've been wronged to do whatever they can about it!

I'm dismayed to hear this. That is complete bullshit about the prices being different - what a joke. It sounds like they're trying to add additional charges for exchanging seats! This is the first time that Tool has dealt with TM in Oklahoma and it's been complete shit through and through. If they don't go back to tickets.com then this very well may be the last time I see Tool in my home state, or anywhere else for that matter. At least she was willing to do something, but I didn't even think about today being President's day. I truly hope you're able to get something worked out..

No official confirmation about if it's true or not true. Sup Fellows. This is my newbie post, but after hearing the news about Danny Carey and the OKC show being postponed I just had to make an account and post my 2 cents.

So, me and 3 buddies had bought 4 nose bleed tix on day one online. We book a sweet hotel and plan on driving down and making a big fucking deal of it. We start stock piling the weed, booze, and other assorted goodies. For some odd reason I get compelled to check out the TOOLBAND website (which I never had before) and blam on the news page I found out about the postponed tour.

Words cannot describe how dissapointed we were and are. I REALLY hope they can come back to OKC before the summer is over. As the 5 week wait was already agonizing and now it could be 6 months...

No real point to this, just damn. This was to be my first concert in years and my first Tool concert period. We are out of East Tulsa, so its like a 2 hour drive. Whenever the concert DOES happen, I know it will be even sweeter...even if the wait sucks cock now.

PS: Now Ticketmaster has floor seats available, I'm wondering if I should try to trade in my nosebleeds for better. Any experiences with refunds/exchanges???

I hope to hear something official soon. I really don't care how long I have to wait...When they come I AM GOING. And its already been said on ticketmaster that the tickets will be honored at the re-scheduled show. I just hope they don't flat out cancel the Ford Center date. That would be horrible.

Well, it does say that they still will be playing at bonnaroo, which is june 14th through the 17th, so by at least june he should be playing again. the question is, are they going to start the tour anytime before the festival, or will they start after it?

If there's going to be a meet-up before the show I'm in! We should decide on a bar or general area to meet up and drink/smoke. I might have to find K7's ass during the show if he's gonna bring 20 joints! Haha. Anyway, the business about smoking in the arena.. I've been to a few shows at the Ford Center, and I've smoked at every one of them. However, on two different occassions I've seen people get caught in the seats, and get the shit beat of them by security before being dragged off to be arrested by police waiting outside. This is no joke. Just be careful and use common sense, but don't be surprised if three people beat the fuck out of you with sticks and then hog tie you with zip-ties and carry you out of the show. I've seen it happen with my own eyes. If anyone was at the 2001 OKC show you might remember people making "freedom runs" down the aisles to break through/jump over the floor barriers. I would love to see this happen again, haha!

EDIT: P.S. This whole business about new GREAT sections like 114 going on sale is complete bullshit. I'm writing TicketMaster off forever, fuck those guys. If the same shit goes down for the next round of Tool (2009-2010?), I might possibly say fuck those guys as well. Harsh realities from a tired consumer of Tool's product.

K7_Leetha

So, there is no opening act correct? Just 2-3 hours of pure TOOL. I read somewhere that when they DO get back to the tour, they're gonna have an updated visual show with more CGI and lights and what not to help make up for the delay. So the show we see could be alot differant than the first leg of the 10K tour.

Ticketmaster freakin sucks!!! I could get Sec. 114 or 107 Row A for six seats together on Saturday...Ive already bought 13 tickets because better seats showed up the Saturday before in 223. This is complete BS...

Why would the best seats be saved to go onsale 2 weeks after they originally went on sale and after its been postponed???

MelbaToast454-1
02-26-2007, 03:50 AM
who knows? I do know I saw Nine Inch Nails in section 114. While you might THINK they are the best seats, they are not. It was so far over on the stage you could see behind the curtains and all that.

hehe at least can't go wrong with this show. Just to be safe, I got two TA presales, two seats in 116, and just got two more in 115 B

So I can pick and choose. IF the TA's are Floor section 2 than ill give the other remaining two to some friends.

I just have a feeling this might be the last time I get to see Tool live play here. So thats about $380 total. Not to bad considering they are all premium seats for the best live band. You would pay that for two seats or one for Pink Floyd!

Now we just get to play the waiting game..... :)

K7_Leetha
02-26-2007, 06:47 AM
Ticketmaster does suck. I tried like hell to get 4 floor seats the day they went on sale, but ended up with nosebleeds. Now I could get 4 seats right in section 6...and my tickets just arrived in the mail. None of my buddies wanna go through the hassle of exchanging/selling for the better seats. Oh well, I guess I should just be thankful I get to go. When they do make up the date that is! :(

I'd be really suprised if the 4/29 show is on. Probably an old radio advert is still airing locally or something. Yup Danny's dog fucked him up. Here's the official release from Tool's website:

----------------------------------------------
TOOL NEWSLETTER
FEBRUARY, 2007 e.v.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DANNY & THE RESCHEDULED TOUR

Lots of you have been asking just how Danny tore his [right] bicep. Some thought the injury occurred while he was playing basketball, with others wondering if he damaged it out on the golf course, or, worse still, in a motorcycle accident. Well, the truth of the matter is that he tangled with the wrong boxer. Although the guy in question (some of you might have even seen him fight) is pretty old now (at least, he's not in his prime as boxers go), he obviously got the best of Danny when this all went down a couple of weeks ago. And, as is often the case with these things, a girl was involved. As it turns out, Danny's girlfriend happens to be very close to this guy, even having him move in with them. Still, everything was going just fine until the incident that resulted in the serious injury.

DANNY WANTS TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Last night up at Danny's house, as I prepared some chicken vindaloo for a few close friends (an excellent batch, by the way), Rynne suggested that I mention on the website exactly what happened, and even post a photo of the boxer guy. "So, you want me to set the record straight, huh?" "Yes, I think you should" she said. Danny agreed, and told me that he'd e-mail me a photo of the guy before going to bed that night. "Okay, I'll do it... just as long as you don't mind", I said, "but I'm not sure what people are going to think."

As you can well imagine Danny is still in considerable pain, but on the way to the Lakers/Celtics game a couple of nights ago (I might be driving him around and cooking Indian food, but I'm not brushing his teeth and wiping his ass - those jobs are still open if anyone's interested!), he mentioned to me when HE thought the tour would be rescheduled. This was off the record (as I suggested it should be until I heard from his manager), but without giving any actual time-frame, I can say that, barring any further calamity (such as all the blind spots of a purple [er, Viola Ophelia] Murciealgo or attack by a killer Savannah named "Pharaoh") or unforeseen circumstances that even our newly-installed psychmantium won't show, it's much better than what a lot of you are thinking (in reading the posts on the message boards). Danny has a good doctor it seems - at least I was told that the guy actually invented (and patented) the screw that's now holding things together in his arm. So, no more Def Leppard (some French guy, I assume) or Josh Freese or Meg White comments please!!! But, getting back to the altercation with that boxer (Amos being his name) that Danny lifted up in a most awkward way, put him on a wanted poster, will you San Antonio!

(NOTE: I'm going to put a photo of "Double Trouble" in the ToolArmy photo album in the "Lightside" section. We know all about Amos, but, for those who are asking, Danny's Savannah, "Pharaoh", is a hybrid of a serval and a domestic cat. Not to be confused with a "Bengal", like the one Maynard gave Adam and Camella many years ago.)

HERE'S THE CULPRIT!

http://207.7.138.58/images/news/AMOS%20AT%20LARGE.jpg
----------------------------------------

The good news is it won't be postponed as long as we may have thought. Although still no time estimates have been given. Tool may be indestructable to humans, but not dogs :).

So i just got tickets....

Not going to lie - I am a bit bittersweet right now. I wanted to buy tickets day of release and the floor was sold out pretty much instantly (no surprise - no big deal) so I decided I was going to wait for some time to actually buy my tickets and hopefully find one on E-Bay. Well today - out of curiosity (keep in mind this is like 2 weeks after they went on sale) I decided to check ticket master. I ended up getting Section 115, Row E Seat 9

I honestly stared at the screen in disbelief for a few minutes wondering why / how I got this good of a seat when I got complete nosebleeds a few weeks ago. I ended up buying the ticket, but it is still frustrating knowing great tickets were still available even though the site was saying otherwise.

Depends on if the stage actually ends up being where they show on okfordcenter.com. If it is that means 114 will be to the side of the stage and you would probably have a better view from 116 unless you want a good side-view of Danny drumming with his new bionic arm! Personally I would rather see them from the front. I had 117 M for NIN last year. The view was good, but not close enough for my liking, however the stage was at it's normal position all the way back. I have 117 H and am really fucking hoping that the stage is going to be across the 115 level.

How sad,do some research before you run your mouth! shows what you know. Go to the ford center website www.okfordcenter.com This concert isnt general admission! Or they would sell GA tickets nutbag! the whole floor section 1-6 is seating! If you think otherwise go to ticketmaster online and try to order tickets on the floor, and if you are lucky enough to get one IT WILL BE SEATED! TOOL is doing this now instead of GA so people dont have to worry about being pushed around, they can focus on the band and the experience in their assigned and paid SEAT!

And we have a new seating chart (is this, like the 145th one??):

http://www.okfordcenter.com/events/TOOL.html

In light of all the new tickets released on TM, I suspect this is THE official seating chart.

Now I'm really torn on whether I should sit in 114 or 116. I think the fact that my 114 seat is in the third row makes me favor it a little over the 116 seat in the 11th row. I think I would end up being pretty close to Danny and Justin from 114.

I totally agree with Tool's action on this, when i saw them in Kansas City, it was GA, and it was hard to soak up all the music and effects because people would not stop pushing and shoving. People were even moshing during the slow part of Wings for Marie!!!

Haha, one of my buddies who's going to show has vowed that if Tool doesn't have an opening act and plays for an hour and a half then he will piss in a boot and throw it at Maynard. I'll keep tabs on him during the show..

A couple things:

Fuck Ticketmaster.

I ordered 3 tickets the minute they went onsale at their site, and got section 227 row B. I check out the site today and I can get floor tickets and lower level tickets cheaper.

Again, fuck ticketmaster.

And in case there's still some confusion, this is definitely not a half stage setup. One of the tickets I can purchase right now is for sec 107, which is (unlike what the seating chart at ticketmaster shows you) directly to the side of the stage in a full arena setup. Use the seating chart at okfordcenter.com, it is more accurate.

I would not worry about smoking as long as you're not too obvious about it. I've seen many, many shows here I've had security guards take what I was smoking but nothing else.

For those of you not familiar with OKC, directly across the street from the Ford Center is a little park with a pond, some walkways, etc. Good place to hang out and meet up with people.

This should be a very good show once Danny heals. Great acoustics, lax security, and floor seating (!) Looking forward to it.

Ok guys I have a question... I called ticketmaster about a week ago to see if I could exchange my seats for better seats that became available. The lady said yes, we can exchange your seats so she assigned me to the new seats. Not knowing that it was going to cost me an extra 30 dollars in fees, so once I heard that I told the lady I will just stay with my original seats. She said she could not give me my original seats because she gave them up. So instead of being in 324 Row H she was going to move me up to 324 Row A. Whatever no big deal, but when my tickets came in the mail, I received section 324 Row H and section 324 Row A. So I have 3 extra seats in my original seats. So my question is do you think that all the tickets they mailed me will scan on the day of the show?

even when you do the ticketfast by email that is how they verify your ticket by scanning them... i was just wondering if you think the 3 extra tickets they sent will scan the day of the show
