was the sky originally that colour? Thats not a colour I've ever seen in a sunset, but then I do probably reside on the other side of the globe so things would be a little different.

Nicely framed photo though, I like.

It was actually sunrise. The colour was slightly more blue, but I lengthened the exposure time, creating the desert look.

SadSummer, what kind of scanner do you use? A film scanner or a flatbed? just curious

It's just a flatbed. Scanner/photocopier.

you should really look into a dedicated film scanner then (if you can afford it). it would greatly improve the quality of your scans and make the digital images as good (or almost asgood) as your film ones.
