GREAT GREAT interviews and live footage.


Some interesting parts:
Adam saying the music doesn't mean anything, it's surreal.
Maynard saying he could just take his money and move away, but he chooses to stay.

That was some good footage, I know they hate doing interviews because they want everyone to focus on the music, but it's nice to hear their perspectives on it all. I like how they are just really casual, kinda like, "we're just average people", and draw your own conclusions about the music.

MJK was so right about there being a huge demand for this music, but basically, only one band to supply it!

They weren't. It was a segment from "Mr. Show" with adam and maynard in a fake band. Later they used it for a real thing.

One of the things I would ask Maynard if I ever had the chance to interview him is whether or not there are right and wrong meanings to his songs. For example if someone said 46 & 2 was about picking scabs would Maynard say thats a perspective, but it's wrong, or would he say there is no right or wrong meaning and if that's what it means to you then thats what it means. Is his original intent for the song, or what it means to him the true meaning?

"the sounds came first, the lyrics came after", what maynard says around 5:20 or so. ive always thought of his voice as another instrument just to enhance the song..the songs arent always about the words at all.

It was pretty neat, they opened with 3rd eye, and had a lounge lizard style remix of hooker with a penis (IIRC) with talking penises and vaginas..funny stuff.
